June 5, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 146 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers signing TE Robert Tonyan and LB Jamin Davis on the heels of both players coming to Pittsburgh for tryouts this past week. We discuss what each brings to the team and how each make the overall 91-man roster better. The Steelers waived UDFA TE Chamon Metayer on Thursday, so Alex and I make sure to recap that team transaction and the dead money charges that came along with it. TE Darnell Washington was signed to a four-year, $42 million contract extension since our last show, so Alex and I dedicate a lot of time to discussing the finer details of that deal and his role and possible usage on offense moving forward into the 2026 season. With the Steelers being expected to sign CB Joey Porter Jr. to a contract extension at some point prior to the regular season getting underway, Alex and I discuss what might be holding up that deal from getting done at this point of the offseason. Will the Steelers also get DT Keeanu Benton signed to an extension this offseason? Alex and I reexplore the possibility and probability of that happening and what his APY value seems to be right now. We also discuss whether a Benton contract extension could potentially wind up being for four years. OLB T.J. Watt held a media session a few days ago, so Alex and I go over the few notable things he had to say about his role and usage in the defense moving forward under the new coaching staff. With former Steelers QB Russell Wilson retiring from the NFL this week, Alex and I discuss whether he is Hall of Fame worthy or not. This 120-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. June 4 â Ep. 102: For today's episode, Josh Carney and Ross McCorkle discuss the barrage of contract extensions during mandatory minicamp, and debate whether Pittsburgh made good business decisions with Nick Herbig and Darnell Washington. What does Herbig's deal mean for the OLB room, and who else may be getting paid soon? Next, we discuss another offseason of Roman Wilson buzz after a deep-ball connection from Aaron Rodgers to Wilson on the final day of minicamp practice. Is it okay to buy into the hype again after being burned last year? We debate this and more. For the last topic, we talk about all the other misc. buzz from minicamp including Jack Sawyer's new physique, Daylen Everette impressing, T.J. Watt moving around the defense, and more. We wrap up the show with a listener question about Carson Bruener. Thank you for joining us for this 48-minute episode, and we hope to see your thoughts in the comment section. June 3, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 145 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing Pittsburgh Steelers finally signing free agent S Darnell Savage to a one-year contract on Tuesday. We also discuss the player waived to make room for Savage on the roster. The Steelers had five players in for tryouts on Tuesday, so Alex and I go over that list players, which is headlined by TE Robert Tonyan and ILB Jamin Davis. The Cleveland Browns traded away DE Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, so Alex and I both chime in on what that deal included and now means for both teams as well as the Steelers. Alex and I then talk a little bit more about the Steelers' decision to sign OLB Nick Herbig to a four-year, $100 million contract extension on Tuesday. We discuss how the onus is now on the Steelers to find a way to get Herbig on the field more in 2026 and even it is part of a three outside linebacker package that also includes T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith. With the Herbig extension now completed, Alex and I address the plausibility and probability of the Steelers trading away one of Watt or Highsmith. We discuss the possible highest draft pick compensation for either player as part of any type of trade and if either of us would consider such a deal. The Steelers now seem poised to sign CB Joey Porter Jr. to a contract extension on the heels of Herbig getting done, so Alex and I speculate what a new deal might ultimately look like for him. We also discuss the possibility of Porter receiving fully guaranteed money beyond 2026 should he indeed wind up signing a contract extension this offseason. This 87-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above, and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. June 2, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 144 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Tuesday afternoon show, an emergency episode, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing Pittsburgh Steelers OLB Nick Herbig coming to terms with the team on a four-year, $100 million contract extension at the start of the annual mandatory minicamp practices. Alex and I go over the early details related to Herbig's contract extension and where he now ranks league-wide as far as edge rushers in the NFL. We also discuss how early the Steelers were able to get the Herbig extension done and how refreshing that was. Alex and I then look at what this contract extension now might mean when it comes to getting him on the field more in 2026. We discuss how the team is likely to still stick with T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith in 2026 as well and how new DC Patrick Graham needs a plan to make sure all three outside linebackers are utilized enough. Alex and I talk about how Herbig is still an ascending player and how he now provides great insurance at the outside linebacker position moving past the 2026 season, and especially if either Watt or Highsmith don't play up above the line this year. We make sure to address how much Herbig's 2026 salary cap charge is likely to increase now and if the team will provide any fully guaranteed money in the new deal past the 2026 season. Finally, Alex and I discuss how Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. might not be too far behind Herbig when it comes to his expected offseason contract extension. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. June, 1, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 143 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing it being June 1st and how there is a lot of buzz surrounding the Cleveland Browns possibly trading away DE Myles Garrett soon. On the heels of there being a lot of talk about the 55 total touches per game stat that new Pittsburgh Steelers HC Mike McCarthy is big on, Alex and I take a deep dive into the history and significance of that statistic as it relates to his own career. Alex and I wonder if there really should be a ton made about that stat overall and especially when it comes to the 2026 season. Alex recently wrote about four offensive stats that the Steelers must improve in 2026, so we spend some time going over each of those that he highlighted and why. The Steelers will hold their annual mandatory minicamp this week, so Alex and I go over a few key things to look for during the upcoming practice sessions. We discuss whether we should expect Steelers CB Joey Porter Jr. to do much of anything this week and if it will be a true sign that a training camp hold-in might be on the horizon. May 29, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 142 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the several OTA media sessions that took place with members of Pittsburgh Steelers coaching staff and players since our last show. We start this show by recapping our main takeaways from the last several days of OTA sessions and we make sure to focus on several things that Steelers HC Mike McCarthy had to say during his press conference. Several of the offensive and defensive position group coaches talked to the media this past week so Alex and I recap all of the main talking points to come out of those. Those discussions result in us discussing several of the players and position groups that the coaches talked about. In short, there is quite a bit of talk about several different players on the roster throughout this show and too many to name by name. We also make sure to recap what several players had to say during their OTA media sessions over the course of the last few days during this podcast episode. Alex and I spend a little extras time talking about Steelers rookie TE Riley Nowakowski during this show and especially when it comes to his potential snap count and positional roles played throughout his first NFL season. While he's not the only young player discussed during this show, Nowakowski is the one we spend the most time talking about. The Steelers recently made several front office changes that Kozora learned of, so we make sure to recap all of those during this show. Later in this show, I provide a full recap of where the Steelers currently sit in relation to their salary cap situation. This 103-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. May 27, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 141 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing how excited we are to hear from several of the Pittsburgh Steelers' coaches on Wednesday afternoon as part of the team resuming their OTA practices this week. The Steelers re-signed DL Dean Lowry to a one-year contract on Tuesday, so Alex and I address that transaction and what it means for the defensive line depth chart moving forward into the offseason. On the heels of the Steelers restructuring the contract of TE Pat Freiermuth recently, Alex and I go over all the details related to that transaction. We also discuss the team's current salary cap situation as of Tuesday morning and why the team might need to restructure the contract of at least one more veteran player before the 2026 regular season gets underway. The finer details related to the four-year contract extension that K Chris Boswell recently signed have now surfaced, so with that, Alex and I address the known numbers and the impact of that deal on 2026 and future years. Recently, Steelers OG Mason McCormick was tabbed as the team's most underappreciated player by one media outlet, so we discuss if that is an accurate designation as he enters his third NFL season. Alex and I also address the possibility that McCormick could be in line for a very lucrative contract extension next offseason. How will new Steelers HC Mike McCarthy attack training camp this summer when it comes to him listening to the likes and dislikes of the veteran players under contract with the team? We dive into that question during this show. Alex and I end this show by discussing the current statis of college QB Brendan Sorsby and whether he'll ultimately be part of the annual supplemental draft. We talk about the plausibility and probability related to the Steelers possibly being interested in drafting Sorsby should he ultimately be eligible for that draft process. May 25, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 140 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the forthcoming week for the Pittsburgh Steelers that will include their second set of OTA practices. We go over this week's OTA schedule and how we are expected to hear from several of the team's positional coaches on Wednesday. On the heels of a few recent comments made by Steelers OT Dylan Cook, Alex and I have a lengthy discussion about his outlook for the 2026 season. We discuss the possibility of Cook opening the 2026 regular season as the starting right tackle and how this is a big upcoming season for him as it relates to his future in the NFL and especially when it comes to potential earnings. In the middle of this Monday show, Alex and I look back at the history that Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers has had with rookie wide receivers and especially when it comes to his time with the Green Bay Packers. We go over the reception stats of several wide receivers when they played with Rodgers in Green Bay as rookies. After discuss Rodgers's history with rookie wide receivers, Alex and I discuss what that might mean for Steelers rookie WR Germie Bernard in 2026. We discuss the possibility of Bernard having rookie season much like the one that WR Randall Cobb had in 2011 with the Packers. As part of this discussion, Alex and I set and over/under line for Bernard when it comes to his rookie 2026 reception total. Alex recently wrote about four statistical areas that the Steelersâ defense must improve in when it comes to the 2026 season so we discuss all of those and how each could make substantial impacts. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss the Steelers when it comes to their history of adding players to their offseason roster after mandatory minicamp that wind up ultimately making the 53-man roster. We go over a few position groups that probably best stand a chance for a similar post mandatory minicamp outcome. May 22, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 139 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers holding his first press conference this past week and on the heels of him signing his new contract. Alex and I make sure to parse several key things that Rodgers said a few days ago and that includes us talking about his announcement that 2026 will be his final NFL season. We also make sure to go over all the details of the contract that Rodgers signed recently. The Steelers released their 2026 training camp schedule on Thursday, so Alex and I make sure to recap those dates and the notable different changes that are included in it as well. Steelers HC Mike McCarthy addressed the media a few days ago to discuss OTAs and the return of Rodgers, so we make sure to parse everything that was notable to come out of his mouth. We hyper focus some on what McCarthy had to say of OT Troy Fautanu and OG Mason McCormick both likely to shift to the left side of the offensive line for the 2026 season. Alex and I take some time to discuss what OT Broderick Jones had to say this past week during an interview. We go over the plausibility of Jones not being ready for the start of training camp, and the possibility of him starting the 2026 regular season on the Reserve/PUP list. We also make sure to address the possibility of Jones not playing at all in 2026 and then having the final year of his contract toll next offseason should that wind up happening. During this show, Alex and discuss whether improvements of either the offense or defense in 2026 could have a greater impact on the team in 2026 and why. May 20, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 138 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers signing a new player to their offseason roster in rookie UDFA CB Tamon Lynum. With the Steelers first OTA practices of 2026 now in the books, Alex and I discuss the several larger takeaways from the team's Monday session. We discuss the initial offensive line configurations, who played where and if there are any hard reads to make when it comes to that unit. We also make sure to discuss what OT Troy Fautanu had to say on Monday about hoping he gets to play more alongside OG Mason McCormick moving forward into 2026. Is it possible that the Steelers end up only keeping eight total offensive linemen on their initial 53-man roster this year? In an attempt to answer that question, Alex and look at the total number of offensive linemen that HC Mike McCarthy opened regular seasons with during his four seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. We discuss how the ultimate health status of OT Broderick Jones might play into the number game and who might draw the short stick on the offensive line if only eight in total are kept out of the chute. Alex and I make sure to address the initial quarterback pecking order to start OTAs and whether that rotation will remain the same throughout OTAs and the start of training camp. We also address QB Drew Howard potentially getting a long look during the preseason as part of him starting at least one of those contests and coming off the bench for at least one other one. The Steelersâ three new coordinators, Brian Angelichio, Patrick Graham, and Danny Crossman, all met the media on Tuesday, so Alex and I make sure to parse all of the key things each had to say. When it comes to Graham, specifically, Alex and I discuss the level of impact his addition could have on the Steelers' 2026 season when it comes to the team potentially just more than a playoff team that could be one-and-done in the postseason like last season. Besides Fautanu, several other players met the media on Monday, so Alex and I make sure to cover a few additional talking points that several provided us. May 18, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 137 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the official return of Pittsburgh Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers for the 2026 season. With Rodgers now officially back, Alex and I discuss his reported new one-year contract after first discussing how things ultimately played out with him just like many of us expected. Is it really worth constantly rehashing how and why the Steelers got to this expected point with their 2026 QB room? The fact of the matter at this point is that Rodgers is now back and he's present for the start of OTAs. How will things now shake out for Steelers QB Will Howard when it comes to the Week 1 depth chart at his position? Is he really the favorite to not make the 53-man roster this year as one of three kept quarterbacks? I explain that my wish is for Howard to be one of the Steelers three quarterbacks for 2026, assuming only three open the season on the roster. Alex and I discuss what the best worst-case scenario for the 2026 Steelers might be at this point with Rodgers now officially back in the fold. Will HC Mike McCarthy pull the plug on Rodgers before the end of the season should the team find itself officially out of the playoff picture come December? We discuss that question and several more related to Rodgers and the Steelers 2026 QB depth chart. The Steelers 2026 OTAs get underway on Monday so ahead of the first session taking place, Alex and I go over several things we look forward to learning by the end of the first three practices. May 15, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 136 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the annual NFL schedule leak process and how two social media accounts seem to always get all the games correct ahead of time. The Steelers made one signing since our last show, so Alex and I recap the teamâs newest player. We also discuss former CB Cory Trice Jr. clearing waivers this week and what to look for concerning his status moving forward. The Steelers might get rookie WR Germie Bernard signed to his rookie contract sooner than expected and mainly because of the player drafted right after him being signed on Thursday. We explain why we now think that. With the complete 2026 NFL schedule now in our hands, Alex and I go over the teams, three preseason games and the who, what, when, and where of their 17 regular season games. We discuss the good, bad, and ugly related to the regular season schedule. We also go over a few trends related to several of the teamâs 2026 opponents. We also make sure to interject several of the early betting lines for multiple games. Was the 2026 Steelers schedule designed with QB Aaron Rodgers in mind? We go over what Mike North, Media Vice President of Broadcast Planning for the NFL, had to say regarding that question during a Friday morning interview. What did we think about the Steelers 2026 schedule release video that dropped on Thursday night? Alex and I give our answers to that question in addition to talking a little bit about a few other schedule release videos that other NFL teams released. On the heels of Mike Clay of ESPN releasing his early player stat predictions for the 2026 season, Alex and I, as usual, review those and comment on several of them. May 13, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 135 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Wednesday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers now being scheduled to play the New Orleans Saints in Paris, France in Week 7 of the 2026 regular season. We discuss how that game is likely to upset most fans of the Steelers and especially those that live in the southeastern part of the United States. The Steelers waived CB Cory Trice Jr. on Tuesday with a failed physical designation so we discuss that transaction and how the team's former seventh-round selection out of Purdue never could shake injuries since he was drafted. The Steelers added a new center after their rookie minicamp took place last weekend, so Alex and I discuss the addition of Greg Crippen out of Michigan and the corresponding roster move. Steelers OT Broderick Jones was photographed taking part in the team's Tuesday Phase 2 activities, so Alex and I discuss how that should be taken as a positive at this point of the offseason. On the heels of the Steelers signing K Chris Boswell to a four-year, $28 million contract extension on Monday, Alex and I discuss that transaction and everything we know about the new deal up until this point. Steelers GM Omar Khan talked briefly about other contract extensions that could take place this offseason during a recent podcast appearance, so Alex and I parse all that he said on that topic. With Steelers TE Darnell Washington being a strong candidate for an offseason contract extension, Alex and I dive deeper into what his APY market value seems to be at this point. Alex recently ranked the Steelers' top offseason moves to date, so we roll through those and where he had each one listed. This 83-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. May 11, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 134 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this Monday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the Pittsburgh Steelers getting six of their 2026 draft class members signed to their rookie contracts over the weekend. We also talk about timelines related to the Steelers getting the remaining four members of their draft class signed to their rookie contracts. The Steelers held their annul rookie minicamp over the weekend so with that event now being completed, Alex and I give our main takeaways and things that stood out to us on Friday and Saturday. Alex and In begrudgingly discuss the latest news and non-news related to QB Aaron Rodgers, who was supposedly back in Pittsburgh over the weekend. Alex and I also discuss a few things that Steelers HC Mike McCarthy had to say on Saturday. Additionally, we go over the post that Alex wrote this weekend on McCarthy's quarterback class video that was posted several years ago when he was with the Green Bay Packers. The first Sunday night regular season game of 2026 will feature the Dallas Cowboys playing the New York Giants, so Alex and I quickly discuss that news. We also talk about the Steelers possibly opening their 2026 regular season at home and if we might see the Houston Texans being their opponent in Week 1. Alex and I have an extended discussion about the Steelers DT Keeanu Benton during this show when it comes to him possibly signing a contract extension this offseason. We discuss an exp[ended APY this offseason for Benton and whether we both think the Steelers will ultimately get a deal done with him this summer. We also discuss whether Benton might be wise to bet on himself in 2026 in hopes of getting a huge payday next March as an unrestricted free agent. Later in this show, Alex and I discuss Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson and the possibility of him being cut or traded right before the start of the 2026 regular season. This 98-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we make sure to answer a few listener emails we have received to close out this show. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices. May 8, 2026 - Season 16, Episode 133 of The Terrible Podcast is now in the can. In this delayed Friday morning show, Alex Kozora and I get right into discussing the initial jersey numbers for the Pittsburgh Steelers 2026 draft class that have now been announced by the team. We also make sure to caution that several of them might change by the start of the regular season. The Steelers have now also released their 2026 rookie minicamp roster for this weekend, so Alex and I quickly parse that list of 40 players and what sticks out overall as it relates to it. Might P Ryan Stonehouse, who is one of the several tryout players this weekend, be a serious candidate to get signed after this weekend? We discuss his brief NFL history and how he seems like a potential logical candidate to compete against Steelers P Cameron Johnston this summer. There have been quite a few updates regarding QB Aaron Rodgers since Thursday morning, so Alex and I pour over all of them. We discuss Rodgers reportedly being set to come to Pittsburgh this weekend for starters. We then go over what Steelers GM Omar Khan had to say to Chris Mack on Friday morning when it comes to Rodgers' current whereabouts. We also discuss the Friday morning reporting from Mark Kaboly on Rodgers and how he will possibly not visit the Steelers this weekend at all. Alex and I go over what a fair base market value for Rodgers should be this offseason and if contract discussions might be playing any role in him not yet re-signing with the Steelers. Al in all, we make it known that there's probably a good chance that nobody really knows where Rodgers is currently as far as his current location, decision-making process, and timeline. Much later in this shorter show, Alex and I begin speculating on the current market value of Steelers DT Keeanu Benton, who many think has a great shot at signing a contract extension this offseason. We go over a list of comparable players to Benton right now and the current market values of each. We will continue this conversation on Benton on the Monday show. This 33-minute episode also discusses several other minor topics not noted in the recap above and we are sorry that technical difficulties resulted in it being shorter than usual. steelersdepot.com Learn more about your ad choices.
