current and former NFL players who went undrafted posting on social media to encourage this year's draft class. The message is simple. Even if you don't get drafted, you can still find success in the NFL. In Pittsburgh, there have been many players that prove this to be true. Donnie Shell, James Harrison, Willie Parker, L.C. Greenwood,

and the list goes on. The current roster also includes good examples. Kicker Chris Boswell has been

invaluable, especially in close games. If running back Jeline Warren rushes for 918 yards this season,

just slightly under what he did in 2025, he could jump to the 11th overall for the Steelers' career rushing leaders.

He would pass former first-round pick Richard Mendenhall, sitting just below Rocky Blyer and Barry Foster on the list.

Sure, it's a long road to make the final 53-man roster for an undrafted player. But it happens pretty much every year.

Last season, it took Sebastian Castro until November with a detour to Tampa Bay, but he made

the roster and is back for training camp this summer with another chance. In 2024, Beanie Bishop

went undrafted, but found success with the Steelers as a rookie, including four interceptions.

As the team moves through its

off-season programs, every player has the same opportunity to make an impression on the coaches.

Sometimes it's the players with the least certainty of finding a home that work the hardest

and find a way to stick. Health and luck are factors too, of course. A third-round draft pick
