Julia James was a local PCSO, working with members of her community to help victims of crime, domestic violence and to make it safer. But on the 27th of April 2021, Julia took her dog for a walk in a local beauty spot, but she never came home. Julia's injured body was found in woodland by local walkers and she was pronounced dead at the scene. When Naomi Hunte was found murdered in her own home, the police had a prime suspect. Naomi had called the police four times, on a man called Carl Cooper, she told them that he had been stalking her and subjecting her to abuse, but nothing was done. The police found a knife with Naomi's blood on it in Carl's home, CCTV showed him in the area just before he died, as well as mobile phone data that shows they spoke on the phone on the night she was killed. But still.... he was bailed and back out on the streets after the police said they didn't have enough evidence to charge him. Carl was free to date again... and he targeted a vulnerable woman called Fiona Holm. Fiona was never told that Carl was on bail for suspected murder, despite calling the police after he attacked her. In June 2016, Dawn Rhodes arrived at her family home where her soon to be ex-husband Robert was waiting to hand over their child. But something happened that left their child and Robert with injuries and Dawn, dead. Robert and their child said Dawn had attacked them in a jealous rage and at a trial Robert was found not-guilty of murder, instead, killing Dawn in a heroic act of self-defence. Until their child had a conversation with a therapist years later, that changed everything. This is REAL.
