Sometimes your biggest enemy is sleeping right next to you. Someone who isn't using violence,

rather someone who is mentally abusive, someone whose consistent lies and constant betrayals

leave their victims questioning everything they thought they knew.

In today's case, one woman's repeated actions caused at least six men severe emotional harm.

But the real number of victims could be much higher.

The In September 2022, Peter Knight from Grey Abbey in Northern Ireland, logged on to an online dating app.

He was looking for love. He was in his early 60s. He worked as a bus driver and he wanted someone

to spend the rest of his life with. Someone who could keep him company through his retirement years,

and essentially finish life together. As he scrolled through the profiles of women in his area,

his attention was drawn to one in particular. A woman in her 40s, with short hair and glasses, and there was something about her

profile that made him want to reply to the message that she'd sent him. They started messaging each other,

and despite the 20-year age gap, they discovered they both had a lot in common and they made plans to meet up.

Peter couldn't believe his luck. The woman he was talking to was called Alyssa and as they

messaged back and forth, she told him that she was a senior doctor working in critical care

at the Ulster Hospital.

He was smitten. Amongst the many happy things they had in common, they also had a shared trauma.

Peter's son had died, and when he told Alyssa about his painful experience as a bereaved parent, she said she understood,

because she was one too.

She went on to tell him a heartbreaking story.

She said that 13 years ago, her eldest daughter had been in a fatal car accident.
