5933 Are You Alive? Listener Questions

Do you have an example of non-determinism being an emergent property out of deterministic subcomponents? I'm curious @Stefan Molyneux why do people seem to avoid simplicity or any reductions in complexity? I get tons of requests to add complexity to software at work without any regard for value provided to customers. I find it fun, interesting, and not overly difficult to simultaneously remove complexity, often deleting large amounts of code, even while adding features and making the program more robust. I saw this recently too with people mocking Musk's raptor 3 engine, which is a massive simplifications of the previous raptor 2 and 1 designs. I see this not only as practical, but also a thing of beauty that something so simple can be so functional, and likely, more reliable because of it. Yet, people seem to hate it, and I don't quite understand. 5929 STOP BEING CONFUSING!

If the neural weights of our values neurons is randomly initialized as by neural network back propagation does that mean we can get an ought from an is and that that is basically randomness from the total universe’s electromagnetic smog? If you could go back in your life to when you were 17 and left school, what would you differently and why? If we are merely the current iteration of our genes, what moral obligations do we have towards other iterations? You did the best years ago ...the Christmas truce...it can't be beat What is the nature of consciousness? Where do thoughts come from? Give those a shot. Hey Stefan. I've been listening to and watching your content for 15 years now, and you have been a great source for all things philosophical. I am grateful for all the work you put into educating and informing others. In particular, as it pertains to the State. My question is, do you believe we are, either in or approaching the modern equivalent to the enlightenment era, when humanity (or, at least a portion of humanity) will finally be getting an upgrade regarding knowing what it means to be a free human being? Or, is it too early yet, and we have to go through something akin to the dark ages for awhile first? Thanks for all you do. I hop you get the chance to answer my question. Are human beings worth helping? Is it really better to give than to receive? When you back on YouTube? Objective morality exists? what are feelings exactly. if you're in the mood, same for time. Why do some people think that life and creation itself could have been a random accident? Thoughts on the following: Humans aspire to gain wealth so they can skate on the backs of the fiscally enslaved. 5928 HELP I TORTURED MY SISTER! Freedomain Call In

How to emerge from 10 years of isolation and cross the desert Topic Detail: Hi Stefan, I'm a 31 year old man who's recently found the show (in October). Philosophy has taken a fire to my heart. I have been ravenously devouring your books and call-in shows and podcasts in the past months. I am emerging from a very long period of isolation, and I need help navigating this life transition. I am starting from a point of zero quality relationships, and need to cross the desert! I've confronted my parents about my childhood. This confrontation not only confirmed their nature as abusers to me, but it engendered a neurological shift in me where I feel more confident, competent, and action-orientated than I've ever felt in my life. I've confronted my parents, moved out of their house, and am taking steps to further my career. Before, I was burning time with hedonism. I had no goal. Subconsciously, I didn't want a marriage like my parents', or for my future children to have my childhood. I avoided dating in my twenties. When I first moved out in my early twenties, I fell into drug addiction and isolation. I returned to live with my parents in a sort of prodigal son way in my late twenties. I've just moved out again and have told my parents I want I hiatus from our relationship. I don't have another decade to waste. I want love and a family. In this most critical period of my life, I need guidance! I appreciate your time reading this. 5918 I HATE HAPPY COUPLES! Freedomain Call In

Hi Stef, I called in ~6 months ago. I was not doing very well, with me losing my first employment and the "business" I was a part of not doing very well. You gave some direction about sticking with my at-the-time mentor to establish a new career, but I can say that when I called you was definitely not only a bad time, but also quite ineffective, given the stress and dissociation I had to maintain daily. I was focused entirely on the "how" in our previous conversation and was not seeking answers to pressing questions. The result was a likely frustrating and forgettable experience as I brought my anxieties into your life. I seek to remedy that but also to have a genuine, honest conversation, which is still very rare for me. I have some questions that time away from the death-spiral of my inner parents has illuminated and I'm seeking your valuable input. Things have changed since July, with the ultimate step (ironically) being to do less. I ditched the gurus and mentors, and pulled back from all of the relationships I had. There was no one I was close to, and all of my social circles were built on lies I made for approval. Upon telling them of my deception, I was invariably removed from them, as expected. I now work happily and have more time for philosophy, and, hopefully soon, joy and progress towards joy. The core principle behind my need to lie to these groups to gain acceptance was acceptance. This never worked. Nobody valued me anywhere, especially not my parents. My parents taught me little. They bought us things, but never examined what we wanted with any level of curiosity. A core theme I've tried to square personally from your work is that children want to be comforted and loved by their parents, but I can't recall a time when I distinctly wanted anything to do with them. Despite my clear memories of events, I can't remember a time in my life fondly or with joy at all. Not a time I'd return to, or a moment with my family I wish I could go back to. The same feeling exists when I think of the company of others, whether it's friends or family. Frankly, I hate them (everyone), and I hate my "experience" of living up to now. You mentioned a distinct distance from my anger and emotion in general on our call. I didn't even feel anything up until the past few months. I find myself unable to muster up the bandwidth for even the most basic curiosity towards anyone anymore. I feel burnt out by the idea before I even do it. This has been quite the preamble, so I'll just dive into my first question: My parents would die if I asked them to. If I de-fooed, ran off, and died of a heroin binge, they would have been tracking me the entire time and would pay for my funeral. They swear up and down that they would do anything for me and that they would weather any storm to ensure my safety and well-being. I can guarantee they would. For all intents and purposes, they "love" me, even though the relationship is built essentially on bribery, i.e. buy me stuff to placate me and keep me in the home. I've conversed with them before about history, and they even know my stance on their "parenting." They won't change, and I can't even imagine what restitution might look like, or whether restitution is even necessary. I'm at a loss, right at the finish line. How can I consolidate that "loyalty," that desire to do what's right by me, with how much ire I feel for them for not teaching me a damn thing about anything? It's a self-answering question just typing it out but I don't have the bandwidth or courage to answer it myself. Should time allow in our conversation, I have a few more questions about women specifically. My parents didn't teach me jack shit, just left me to my own devices and said "do whatever as long as it's not drugs." I have no earthly clue how to engage someone intimately, either as a friend or romantically. It's sometimes even manifested as a direct and scathing hatred of women as a whole. Like real, bona fide hatred Stef. I'm 28, and everyone woman I have tried to get with has called me a funny friend and wants nothing to do with me. I'm dead certain this has to do with my lack of real, genuine emotion over the past 3 decades but I'm stuck still. The hatred I feel is towards my mom, but even still it manifests and shifts the blame from her to women as a concept. I have no idea what I'm doing and have no examples but pick up artist content, self-help gurus, and redpill youtubers. I'm infinitely grateful for the time you gave me last time we spoke, and I'm hoping that the intermittent time has rendered me more able to not only have a genuine conversation, but also to provide you with a provoking, deep, and meaningful one too. I hope we can talk soon, and thanks again for all you do, Stef! 5917 Rogan Smith Murray Debate!

11 April 2025 Friday Night Live Watch the first 20 minutes of the debate being analysed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah6kirkSwTg&t=20s DOUGLAS MURRAY DAVE SMITH JOE ROGAN Expertise: If you freeform for 2 hours on US foreign policy, you are implicitly communicating expertise. I don't know much about Armenian history, so I can't do 2 hours, or anything close. If someone says: You do not have the rigor of an expert, the answer is not to say: I never claimed to be an expert. The answer is: What is an EXPERT? Credentialism is dead. Douglas Murray has an undergrad in English. Big things experts got wrong. - COVID / VACCINE - GLOBAL WARMING - MELTING POT - IQ RESEARCH - Psychotropics - Replication crisis in science - Not moving heaven and earth to find the source of autism - although diagnosis has gone up with government money for autism - Media bias - they are 'experts' who claim to be unbiased, and are ridiculously biased - Feminism - supposed to be about female equality, had morphed into female supremacy, 58.6% in university for instance - immigration - welfare state - depopulation VS WE NEED IMMIGRATION - intransigence "Mad in America" A lot of podcasters come out of frustration with 'experts' - if you like your doctor, you don't go looking for a new doctor When experts are faced with growing competition (me VS NYT or CNN) what do they do? I come from the business world, where competition drives innovation - I wrote programs that let end users change the entire system. You never badmouthed competitors, you positioned your strengths against their weaknesses, learned from them and would never try to get them cancelled by lying about them. The media/political world is wild - evil compared to business When we are at Vegas, at conferences, we would go to competitors booths and joke with them - like sports. VS Tonya Harding Well, media/politics work to get you deplatformed A lot of people in business had done sports - media, not so much Murray was talking to Joe, not Dave - to deplatform competitors rather than striving to understand what gives them appeal and an audience, and work to win over their audience. We tried to win over competitors customers in the business world. BOB IS A MEAN PODCASTER! Hostility and contempt from Murray was fascinating - I think it comes from despair - we can't save or help people, so silencing them is the only course of action, either because I don't have a good answer, or because the other audience is too dumb and bigoted. Anti-democratic of course, people can't choose their own podcasts but they can choose their own political leaders. I didn't advocate for silencing other philosophers - I just tried to win over their audience. Can you talk about places you've not visited? 5916 Judging Overweight People?

This lecture examines societal perceptions of obesity, focusing on moral judgments and individual choice. The speaker discusses the complexities of criticizing overweight individuals, particularly those with medical conditions, and how exceptions complicate accountability and dialogue. Using a predator-prey analogy, the talk illustrates the destabilizing effect of uncertainty in moral reasoning. Emphasizing the need for clarity, the lecture argues that critiques should center on those capable of making health-related choices, concluding with a call to recognize the assumptions underlying moral criticism to foster meaningful discourse on personal agency and societal expectations. 5914 MY BROTHER ALMOST KILLED ME! Freedomain Call In

Dear Stef, I need your help. I've been a long time listener and sought out therapy as soon as I turned 18. Between then and now I have made very limited progress chipping away at my armor and processing my childhood. I'm panicking at how long its taking when I want to cross the desert, meet a virtuous woman and maketh the babies. I think biggest hurdle is that I'm quite split between my emotional and intellectual. I'm really strong on the intellectual side, identifying patterns, reasoning through healthy behavior, and making theoretical connections with my past. I've learned this alone doesn't work. With me, it doesn't touch my beliefs or really change how I feel or even open a door for me to explore or interact with that realm. I feel hopelessly broken. To be more fair, I have occasionally made connections between these two worlds but only briefly a handful of times in therapy. That's not enough. I still have many dysfunctional behaviors from my near death experience called childhood. I had no bond, was not parenting and was constantly in danger of violence from my middle brother and abandonment from my sadistic mother. I'm baffled that I can logically understand how bad I had it but still lag behind so much with my emotions and lack of empathy for myself. Typically in your call-in, once people understand, they connect. I am so fucking frustrated. No matter what I've tried with two therapists and journaling, I'm not touching it. I am not without emotions, I can feel them strongly. I do try to suppress them until their intensity overpowers the suppression. Talking about suppressing, I've been experiencing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome(self diagnosed) for the past 10 years. I've been to alternative, normal and specialist doctors and ruled out all kinds of illnesses, infections and deficiencies. I'm left with a "*shrug*, we don't know what's wrong with you". I have a working hypothesis that it's mental with physiological effects. I both overuse my fight-or-flight and ignore/suppress the feedback of my body. I just keep pushing through and at some point, my body has burnt out and has trouble repairing muscle damage. You are supposed to repair when you are safe! On another note, fair warning, my mom fights with fog. Prior to writing this, I have tried to overthink this conversation you and I'll have. I kept looping in those conversations because my inner mom would lose to inner Stef. She tried fighting tooth and nail to get by with "I don't know" and 'I don't remember". When she couldn't outwit or play dumb/passive or manipulate, I felt unspeakable danger will occur, like I'd die. Contrary, I think this is when SHE dies and I can be free to be vulnerable. In my experience, most of my past is a grand canyon chasm of fog so thick you can cut a slice of it and serve it as meringue. Only a few plateaus (memories) peek out with little sense of depth. On the same note, in a therapy setting, when I try to bring awareness to what I'm feeling, I get nothing, like going to a play with a white curtain in front of the performance the whole time. The cast is doing something behind there and no matter what, the curtains never part. There's quite a trail of blood leading to my mother in the my present day disfunctions: Whipping myself verbally, rounding down my accomplishments, believing I'm worthless and feeling unsafe in social situations to the point where its easier to avoid most interactions, and fear of dating due to risk of abandonment. My ACE score is 6 or 7 of 10. Not sure on the whether the one about parent being assaulted counts. There was no drug use, prison, or sexual abuse (not counting early exposure to pornography through unfettered internet access). My mother is a malignant narcissist, father a workaholic, middle brother is really fucked up, oldest brother seems kinda okay but sides with my mother. I've been torturing myself for the past 3 weeks straight trying to ask for your help. I've been strongly avoiding and fearing it and yet strongly intent to make it happen. Something tells me that I did a good job providing enough info in this email alone to for you to help me get unstuck. 5913 Do NOT F%ck with Determinism!

How to understand and deal with anxiety of women? Hey Stefan Hope all is well Have you and your daughter been on any adventures? Father daughter memories? What’s something you’d like to experience with your family while you’re here in this life together ? Are you allowed in New Zealand?! It would be nice to make a series on the Examination of the major European philosophers and philosophic movements of the 17th and 18th centuries. Particular attention paid to the transition out of the medieval period into the Age of Enlightenment. Happy with the bitcoin price? Why does no one talk about what happened to Rhodesia? Do you still support fluoridation given it is now a known neurotoxin? If you still experience pain thinking about a toxic relationship you walked away from, does this mean you haven’t processed the morality properly? I’m still thinking about my sister that I don’t speak to anymore. My therapist said that it will always be a “pain point.” What are your thoughts? (asking again- apologies if you answered in a previous stream and I missed it.) Dear Stef, I am currently at a bar on a late Saturday night, I just ordered a drink and the bartender said to me after I ordered a beer, ‘Is that all lovely?’. It was strange to hear this but also flattering to hear a young female bartender refer to me as ‘lovely’. It made me believe that this young bartender was probably flirting with me. I don’t recall any other bartender using the word lovely towards me. whilst the term ‘lovely’ is often used by older women to refer to younger people, this woman was approximately in her early 20’s about 10 years younger than me. She looked reasonably attractive, blonde hair, bright blue eyes but she was also a little chubby, so I wouldn’t date her to be frank, but my question still stands, if a younger woman says to a man ‘Is that all lovely?’. 1. Would she say that to a man she is not attracted to? 2. Would you say it is flirting to use the term ‘Is that all lovely?’. I’ve been to my local bar for the past 10 years and I never recall hearing a bartender say to me ‘Is that all lovely?’. If you do think it is flirting, do you think it is appropriate to ask her out as I’m ordering or should I attempt to find her after work or when she is on her lunch break when there is a bit more privacy away from other customers? Dear Stef are nightclubs and bars in Canada known as a place where people meet, but the only people who meet there are generally trashy people? I ask because I am currently in a bar trying to find a girlfriend, I am sitting alone because I don’t feel the need to bring male friends with me and to be frank I don’t have any male friends not that that bothers me because I would just use male friends as wingman to meet women. Anyway I don’t live in Canada anyway, I live in the continent of Australia, anyway I’m listening to this terrible hip hop music playing which is strange because there aren’t many African people living in Australia, I see people talking and socialising at this bar late on Saturday night and I am just perplexed by the whole experience which I find just almost miserable to be honest. Stef what chance do I have to find a girlfriend at a place like this? it may seem like a strange question but it’s not like there are alternative ideal places a man can go to meet women and ask them out? Anyway why is the West infected with this terrible hip hop music especially in Australia where there are virtually no black people, this music really infects my mind to be frank? What do you think about Saylor starting a fund that buys so much BTC? If you’ve researched it: Is it a good thing or bad thing? Hi Stef, I asked this question the other day? I was wondering if you had an opinion on outsourcing. Large companies sending jobs to third world countries, and paying pennies on the dollar. Its a part of the free market and capitalisms, and wonder if it could be considered predatory, or just supply and demand. The consumer loses out on jobs, but benefits on cheaper goods and services, and the third world although paid a low wage, still benefit from a better job otherwise provided by their society. Thoughts? Also do you have any thoughts on the United Healthcare CEO being murdered. Again, there seems to be a lot of happiness over a man being murdered. People feel that he caused the deaths of many people because the company denied a lot of claims. But is that just the jealousy of the poor, who do not appreciate the value of the insurance company and want free healthcare, or again the free market at work once again? 5910 Fighting Back Against Lies!

Friday Night Live 4 April 2025 In this episode, I critically analyze the Stanford Prison Experiment in light of Thibaut Le Texier's recent book and Russell T. Warne's critique, which questions the experiment's integrity and ethical violations. I challenge the notion of an inherent capacity for cruelty within humans, advocating for a more hopeful perspective on human nature. Discussions on societal perceptions of morality and the impact of social norms on self-worth lead to an emphasis on honesty in relationships. As I critique sensationalized narratives that foster mistrust, I encourage listeners to reflect on their instincts and engage in genuine connections while advocating for moral accountability amidst life's complexities. 5909 On Women! Stefan Molyneux vs ChatGPT!

Dear Stef I was recently having some fun with ChatGPT and I was asking it if various historical figures such as Kant, Schopenhauer and Churchill are sexist to which it replied ‘Yes’. I then asked it ‘Is Stefan Molyneux sexist?’ to which it replied (quoting): ‘Yes, Stefan Molyneux, a controversial figure known for his online videos and advocacy of various far-right and anti-feminist viewpoints, has been widely criticized for promoting sexist ideas. His views on gender are often seen as regressive and aligned with traditionalist, anti-feminist beliefs. Here are some ways in which Molyneux has expressed sexist views: 1. Misogyny and Gender Essentialism: Molyneux often promotes a rigid view of gender roles, suggesting that men and women have inherently different, and complementary, roles in society. He believes that men are naturally suited to leadership, rational thinking, and public life, while women are biologically inclined toward nurturing, domesticity, and emotional roles. These views align with an essentialist understanding of gender, where biological differences are used to justify inequalities in power and opportunity. 2. Criticism of Feminism: Molyneux has been an outspoken critic of feminism, frequently claiming that it has "ruined" society by promoting the idea of gender equality and undermining traditional family structures. He dismisses feminism as a harmful ideology, accusing it of promoting victimhood and entitlement among women, while downplaying issues like domestic violence against men. 3. Views on Relationships and Marriage: Molyneux often espouses a controversial view of relationships between men and women, promoting the idea that women are hypergamous (i.e., they are primarily interested in marrying men of higher status or resources) and that men should be wary of women's desires for financial support and social status. He has also advocated for "alpha male" behavior, claiming that men should assert dominance in relationships to maintain control and avoid being exploited by women. 4. Denial of Gender Equality: Molyneux rejects the idea that men and women should have equal rights and opportunities in many areas of society, often citing his belief in traditional gender roles. For example, he has suggested that women are not suited for leadership roles in politics or business because they are driven by emotionality rather than reason. Molyneux’s views are deeply controversial and are considered by many to be deeply sexist and out of step with contemporary gender equality movements. His rhetoric has been widely criticized for promoting harmful stereotypes about both women and men and for encouraging a backlash against feminist progress.’ There seems to be an acknowledgment of some of your beliefs & truthful statements you have made but there also seems to be an unusual framing of your philosophy around women. 5907 UPB, Morality and its Consequences!

"Should a moralist ignore consequence and argue for UPB purely on the basis of epistemology and pure philosophical merit, while ignoring the elephant in the room, which is the question we all subconsciously ask. “How does this benefit my survival?” "UPB isn’t validated or invalidated by its consequences, but at the same time, discussions of UPB inevitably involve consequences. How do we reconcile this? Especially since free will is in the picture and we don’t want predictions about the future to invalidate choice. "For example, when asked about your thoughts on the success of UPB close to 20 years after publication, you mentioned reductions in violence against children with the expectation that this trend would continue if UPB continues to be spread. Would the theory and observation that UPB leads to reductions in violence against children be a deterministic portrayal of human beings? If we avoid discussing consequences to avoid this issue, then if someone wants to discuss UPB on the merit of usefulness towards themselves and society as a whole, do we stick to purely philosophical merit? Or do we say there are no guarantees, but it will make a desirable outcome more likely. "If we use terms such as 'more likely' in order to maintain philosophical integrity, how do we out compete those who are certain/dogmatic, benefiting from the momentum of societal norms in order to ‘validate’ their false theories. "Regarding the first question about the relationship between moral frameworks, their consequences and free will. I was thinking that if your definition is used where free will is defined as our ability to compare proposed actions to ideal standards then UPB provides ideal standards, increasing our capacity for free will. With this increased capacity, it becomes more likely for moral outcomes to occur..." 5906 I Cheated with over 100 Women! Freedomain Call In

"I listen to you daily and have been for months now. Previously I had been an on-again, off-again frequent listener since I believe 2013 or so (started with YouTube then navigated to your website.) Your wisdom and insight is invaluable, and I have called in before now twice. I am now a subscriber and have donated before. Thank you so much. "The reason I wish to call in this time is because my relationship with the mother of my 3 children has finally come to an end, I hope for good. That is the plan, anyway. The short version just for this synopsis is that we have been slowly drifting apart for the last few months, and finally earlier this week she broke it off with me over text. This came after we were on 'non-speaking terms' following an incident where I called her a bitch for the way she was talking to me. We can speak more about that incident, but essentially, there was a catalyst, and she called it quits after that. "I am not against the breakup - in fact, I am happy that one of us finally decided to make it happen. I have been feeling more and more contempt towards her over the years, and I am sure I felt it in her towards me as well. As you have mentioned many a time before, contempt towards one another is the final nail in the coffin in a relationship (forgive me if I am misconstruing that.) But, the major caveat in all of this is that we have 3 children together. So for my part, I had planned to stay together for their sake at least until they were older teenagers (they are currently 8, 6 and 5), but, and this is where the reason for my call really comes in, from my perspective she is incredibly unreasonable, illogical, and narcissistic or close to it. Therefore, instead of staying together for the kids, she believes she is a 'better mom and person' when she is single, and wants to separate, including living and parenting in separate households. I will present my arguments as to why she is not reasonable during our call, should you think it necessary. I am not one of those callers who will be painting the other person as the villain - that is not the case. I have my bad sides as well, and my flaws, and I am not always reasonable either. "Stef, I am worried how co-parenting with her will proceed. We are still living together until the New Year. I should have no issue with my income getting a medium-sized place to live in where the kids can stay with me half of the time. There school routines should not change. I have a mother who is able to assist with child care as well as an aunt, and as a last resort we could afford a babysitter. In the logistics sense, therefore, there are no 'issues.' The real problem I need guidance with is how to navigate this co-parenting scenario for the next 10 or so years while the kids do not have their own free will to choose who to live with, because my fear is that if I don't appease her craziness to a certain degree, she will turn the kids against me or try something insane like moving outside of town or wasting money on Family Court to get me less access. There are also other concerns which I will talk to you about, of a different legal nature, causing me to be weary. "What is the sweet spot for dealing with people like this - should I stick to my convictions on everything and face what may come from her irrational mind, for the sake of raising my kids the exact way I want, or is it not 'defeat' to make concessions where appropriate to avoid 'rocking the boat' too much? "My previous calls were #3995 from Feb of 2018 and #5113 from February 5, 2023, if you want to refresh your memory of my situation overall. For your listeners, I hope they review all of these calls if they find themselves about to enter a serious relationship at a young age or with any woman, in general, who they have doubts about / have noticed red flags in ESPECIALLY if the prospect of having children with said woman is on the table. This is how your life could turn out if you do not heed the warnings, and heed the teachings of Stefan and philosophy! I hope this is the last call I ever need to make about this topic, and I hope it helps others. Lastly, I plan to come clean on a few things that I was not honest about in the call from a year and a half ago, because I am ready to embrace full honesty and truth. The burden of falsehood is too great, but not for myself, for my children." 5905 STOP WHINING!

Why are we here? I missed the highest possible calling in my life. It felt like a destiny. My subconscious tried to tell me using terror, feelings of impending doom, inspiration, synchronicity & old memories & I failed to listen. Help? What are your thoughts on the classical cynic school? Pros cons on that type of asceticism? Can you justify Jesus as a gate keeper of jungian collective unconsciousness? What's the proper balance of personal ambition (that is virtuous), and family life (including waged and home work for the family)? How would ancapistan build mUh rOaDz? 🧐 #checkmate How can therapy help you change that damn profile pic bro. At times it seems philosophical thought is a form of neuroticism. Neuroticism is built into nature. It’s that part of a living organism that realizes if it doesn’t engage in a consciousness that connects itself to survival followed by precise behavior to assure that survival, it will perish. Thought that goes beyond that is mostly superfluous. But with exception it leads to discovery and invention, some of which can become a means of exchange. This further assuring one’s survival. Whether this thought leads to great truth, or if it’s ever in our scope to comprehend truth, vs. “truths”, is yet to be seen. We always seem aware we can deduce more, and believe despite the jarring solitude of our life filled planet in a barren universe, everything is in our environment and minds to solve all our problems beyond the marvel of us existing in the first place. I’m sure AI will give us the tools to see ourselves and beyond ourselves. It seems our belief there is more is always proving “itself”. The next few decades will be profound in that regard. Is it completely unreasonable if I keep falling or getting involved with women already in relationships? on my mind it makes some sense that the most interesting and attractive women are "taken"... apparently bored and unfaithful, but taken in the end. Maybe after a certain age ppl just cling to loveless relationships. Maybe when I turn 40 they will all be divorced and I will be like 'Pass, it turns out I liked you better when you were just a fling' What is the philosophy of the song ‘The Logical Song’ by SuperTramp? (Lyrics follow): ‘When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful A miracle, oh, it was beautiful, magical And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily Oh, joyfully, oh, playfully watching me But then they sent me away to teach me how to be sensible Logical, oh, responsible, practical Then they showed me a world where I could be so dependable Oh, clinical, oh, intellectual, cynical There are times when all the world's asleep The questions run too deep For such a simple man Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned? I know it sounds absurd Please tell me who I am I said, now, watch what you say, they'll be calling you a radical A liberal, oh, fanatical, criminal Oh, won't you sign up your name? We'd like to feel you're acceptable Respectable, oh, presentable, a vegetable Oh, take, take, take it, yeah But at night, when all the world's asleep The questions run so deep For such a simple man Won't you please (oh, won't you tell me) Please tell me what we've learned? (Can you hear me?) I know it sounds absurd (Oh, won't you tell me) please tell me who I am Who I am, who I am, who I am What is your best advise on how to talk to small children about "defoo:ed" grand parents and aunts? My kids (2 an 4) have had a relationship with my parents and my sister before I finally quit contact with them this year, after they tried to actively ruin my marriage. The kids have happy and fun memories of my family members, and occasionally say that they miss them and want to visit them - although it becomes less and less frequent as time goes. Once, during the first month of quit contact, I over-heard my 4 year-old playing with two stuffed animals, pretending that they were grandma and grandpa... and that they were dead. She was very neutral, and matter-of-fact in the tone of her voice. No hint of sadness or distress. I have explained to my kids that my family have done bad things in a manner that I think is understandable for their age, without trying to take away the fun memories they have. I usually will say something like "I understand that you miss Grandma. But she was not very nice to me when I was a child like you, and she made me feel really bad by not listening to me when I was sad", or "I know Auntie was really fun to play with, but Auntie is jealous, and have tried to destroy my relationship with dad". And sometimes I will just acknowledge their feelings, and not say anything more. "I understand that you miss Grandma and Grandpa, how does it feel to miss them?" How do I best balance this? I don't want to put too much focus on it, or transfer my feelings onto my kids... but I also thinks it's really important that they fully understand why we don't see my family anymore. And of course why I was not able to fully quit contact with them as soon as I turned 18, or at least before my kids were born, is a life-lesson that caused me a lot of pain, but that I hope can be of value to them as they grow older. But I don't want to diminish their feelings, which might be that they genuinely miss my family. I understand this is a dilemma caused by my bad choices, and I take full accountability- which is why I am writing this. Any advice and thoughts on this would be most helpful 🙂 Thank you so much! How do somewhat, inalterably-poor (I have a Mental Disability), conservative-leaning white men, find datable white women, especially if they live in a city? Been in this pickle for over a decade. should i just accept being alone and give up hope if I can't change from being poor - crypto may change my future, but I don't like spending money on stuff other than essentials, except when it comes to food) there is a long waitlist for Community activities for people with similar disabilities and most of the women that attend are significantly older, so that option while I'm looking into it, isn't exactly realistic. Hello. How can philosophy help me? I have many questions for your thoughts, however one is always on my mind and tears at me constantly. How are so many people able to torture animals? I grew up in the 70s watching Public Television during a time when censorship was more lax and feelings or empathy and snowflakes were not a consideration. There I witnessed as a child torture to lab animals - the attendants were having fun so brutally torturing baboons to death. I am sickened constantly, every day, by how those lab students (they sounded like college students) laughed and laughed and had so much fun, I cannot tell you what they did and I've never told anyone and I never will. I also have seen horrible torture of animals in The Daily Mail UK of dogs, a greyhound in particular, that was lifted and put into a gigantic boiling pot. It tried to get out but couldn't and was boiled alive. This and much more graphic torture to dogs shown in The Daily Mail UK Yulon festival in China. Most of my life I have been involved with spreading the word through letters and informing some people in conversations if there was a moment that it actually would fit in (doesn't come up much). I've been involved on twitter about all this. I'm now also on instagram trying to spread this information. I've seen horrible pictures of bears being tortured to death, after they had their teeth pulled out, tied up as pit bulls bit and tore at it as entertainment at an Asian wedding - it's seen as fun and what a grand wedding it was. This is all normal stuff, by the way, this is not unusual as I've seen and researched and wrote letters to whomever I could that might help and helped charities when I could, etc etc. All this (animal torture) and so much more I've seen (horrible chicken farms during elementary class trips even) throughout my long life, most recently torture of wild caught dolphins from disgusting Finland hunters while children watched and participated on the beach. I hate humanity. Talking to me in person, you would never know that fact - of course not. I tried counseling, 4 times over many years, and each therapist left me with more trauma then when I entered their doors. They were so uncomfortable when I said I hated people. People, as generally, not everyone! I like good people and I hate bad people = duh! They were not interested in my deep feelings, they were only interested in helping my self-esteem, as if that was truly what was always wrong with me! I never told any of them that I wanted help with my self-esteem. Maybe they saw me as a lost cause and figured it was a self-esteem issue. I know it sounds like a lot. Your philosophical thoughts please, not about me, but the human/torture/animal stuff. As a former white-collar business owner, could you offer some insights into why so many white-collar business owners nowadays expect swiss army knife employees for salaries commensurate with only one of their skills? For example, I might see a job posting for a senior-level marketing copywriter, but required qualifications will also include social media management, several graphic design and video editing programs, coding knowledge, project management software, etc. Often, these roles will advertise below the average salary for someone who is solely a copywriter, despite their desired candidates filling the shoes of multiple employees. As a senior-level professional in my field, I've tried my best to keep up with these qualification expectations rather than complaining because I know they'll make me more competitive, but I've had to turn down several offers by people who lowballed my already lowball salary expectations while expecting me alone to BE the team. Speaking only from the employee side, I cannot see the rationale for why an employer would expect someone to accept these terms. You have mentioned that you, as a child, thought that most other people was more moral and more reasonable. Then you started to realize they weren't. How did you deal with your disappointment when you left childhood behind and realized that the world wasn't the nice place you expected it to be? How do you raise daughters to not be promiscuous or Instagram-obsessed? 5904 UPB CROSS-EXAMINED! CALL IN SHOW

In this episode, I discuss Universally Preferable Behavior (UPB) with a caller looking to deepen their understanding of ethics. We define UPB as a systematic method for evaluating moral rules and explore its application through real-life scenarios, such as the ethics of assault. As we examine complex issues like fraud and societal responsibilities, we highlight how UPB addresses objections and reinforces the universality of truth. The conversation concludes with a focus on UPB's potential to reduce societal violence and its implications for parenting, encouraging listeners to reflect on the relevance of these ideas in their own ethical lives. 5901 Corinthians: Love is Kind! Bible Verses

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known. And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-13 GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK! https://peacefulparenting.com/ Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free! 5897 Dealing with Bad Emotions!

This lecture examines the strategies for overcoming negative emotions through two main theories: the theory of stimulus and the theory of opposites. The speaker discusses how external factors can influence emotional well-being, emphasizing the need to identify and eliminate negative stimuli from one's environment. Personal anecdotes illustrate the impact of unsupportive relationships on issues like depression and social anxiety. Transitioning to the theory of opposites, the speaker advocates for actions that counteract past negative experiences, promoting growth and independence. Practical strategies for applying these theories are offered, encouraging listeners to assess their influences and reclaim their emotional power. 5893 IS MY WIFE INSANE? Freedomain Call In

My friend who listens to your show often recommended me to talk to you. I've seen videos and read your book. I am stuck on the treadmill of life. My wife got pregnant while we were 18 with my son. We got married and life has been hard ever since. Early 30s, 5 ft 10, dark hair/eyes, fit lean build, young looking TL;DR I feel like a pathetic loser and single father. I know I'll be bitter forever but can't bring myself to finally leave her. None of my family/friends know other than 1 friend. Talked to lawyers. All of her friends/family/client's know. I see them and am ashamed. I have the lowest self respect ever. She has been berating me years. She won't let me lead in any aspect. I have no frame. Why am I like this? Do I think I had my shot so now I need to take care of my sons? I don't want to see my kid's half as often? Is it because I've never been with another girl? Do I worry about her finding a new man or I won't find a new girl? How can I look my sons in the eye and tell them I wasn't strong enough to do what I recommend for them? She says she loves me. I love her, but this seems really unhealthy. Where is my masculine desire to leave? Am I the problem? Is she? Does she have BPD? Backstory timeline: High school, sophomore year. Ask her to be my gf immediately after she broke up with her boyfriend, she ended it the next day. It was because she was fooling around with her ex. Time goes by, we start dating. Our relationship is constant drama and roller coaster of emotions. We were both jealous of any interaction with the opposite sex. She got pregnant Junior year but she miscarried. We still dated and she gets pregnant my first semester in college when I was thinking of breaking up with her. We got married, lived with family for the first while with my son and then got an apartment. I had been bouncing around between part time jobs while going to school and she started her own company doing aesthetics. Mainly eyelashes. I did poor in school. Hadn't grown up and wasn't being a man. She goes to Aesthetic school and we both work evenings. The cycle repeats of me getting a new job every year only to increase pay slightly and inching towards my degree. She continued with Aesthetics. Have another son. She had been inappropriately chatting with a friend of ours. She moves out and tells me we need some time apart and strings me along. We start going to counseling. I think this can work. She starts seeing change in me. I asked her about any cheating which she lied about and I believed. She tells me about cheating on me. I'm furious but still attend counseling. I'm done. Planning for divorce mentally. Checked out from the relationship. We find out she's pregnant (with my kid) and decide we can make it work. She wants to stop counseling (but not tell the counselor she's pregnant.) I move into her apartment and shortly thereafter she has a stillborn birth at 26 weeks. We buy a house together and fix it up before moving in. She starts giving off hints that she doesn't think our relationship will work. She decides to try and make it work but in order to do so she needs to tell the truth. She tells me that the guy is a friend of mine. She saw him. They kissed. She tells me we only got back together because pregnant. I'm mad, sleep downstairs, cut ties with multiple friends. She says she will do whatever it takes to make it work. Time goes by. I get a full time job and am still in school. She is pregnant with my 3rd son.She finds out I've been looking at porn. Get kicked out of house. Live with parents. I move back in. Get a full time salaried position making more than I've ever made by a decent amount. Graduate with a degree in IS. Last year shortly before summer she tells me she wants to get a divorce. Our relationship is a constant cycle, I don't try to get a better job, We don't make enough money, She thinks she's better off without me. I try to become Superman. I go to counseling&coaching. I try to become a better father/man. Work on my career. Be better in every aspect. I'm checked out from the relationship. At my birthday dinner she says she wants to make it work AGAIN. While thinking/planning I'm just sitting in limbo not making a decision. Things start looking up. Relationship is better than ever. Closer than ever. Spend time together. Help each other. Tells me she loves me more than ever. Cries because our sex is so good. A few months ago she went to a concert with a girlfriend. Got blackout drunk, ended up kissing a random guy in a parking garage. She says I should leave her. At the time I didn't really care. What's one more on the record? I had been consuming red pill content over the past year and a half. We find out our toddler is Autistic. Therapy/school is expensive. We talk, she starts being better. Says she loves me. I contact lawyer. I left out some things due to word restriction. 5982 AI Will Save the Birthrate!

Wednesday Night Live 19 March 2025 In this episode, I explore critical societal issues, starting with the lack of media attention on astronauts' return and its political implications. We discuss social polarization, "blowback," and unrest stemming from perceived injustices. I share insights on the transformative journey of parenthood and the importance of accountability in relationships, while also critiquing male feminists and the exploitation of vulnerable individuals online. Additionally, I address the impact of AI on job displacement and women’s workforce roles. I conclude by reflecting on nearly two decades of discourse, urging continued engagement for personal and societal growth. 5891 The Blowback of Hatred!

Sunday Morning Live 16 March 2025 In this episode, I explore the intricate relationship between truth, addiction, and human dynamics. I discuss why people cling to their beliefs despite contradictory evidence, suggesting that various addictions can obstruct the pursuit of honesty. Our conversation examines the historical context of truth-telling versus social acceptance, particularly regarding gender dynamics, where men often suppress independent thought for validation. Listeners will hear reflections on familial relationships and the struggle for closure after long-standing grievances. I challenge the notion of reconciliation when it arrives too late to make a difference. We also tackle contemporary issues, like public reluctance to confront societal truths and the implications of our attitudes towards wealth and billionaires, highlighting how societal narratives can influence our moral responsibilities. My aim is to invite deep reflection on how societal norms shape personal growth and our understanding of uncomfortable truths.
