LO: To Try Your Best To Not Crack A Smile When Telling A Student Off

Back for episode 250 and it’s the last one of the half term. SATs are finally done, but before anyone starts skipping into summer like they’re in a feel-good montage, the lads quickly remind everyone that the final half term is anything but calm. Reports, sports days, transitions, residentials, productions and the emotional roulette of finding out next year’s class all get a mention. Lovely. Peaceful. Relaxing. Absolutely not. There’s also a big build-up to the biggest live show the Two Mr Ps have ever done at The Lowry in Salford, with just a handful of tickets left and the show being filmed. No pressure then. From there, the lads get into a chat about parents, family stories and the little things that make every household slightly odd. It starts with the boys getting in trouble for things they’ve said about their own mum and dad on the podcast, before spiralling into a thread about the strange but brilliant things parents do. Some are sweet, some are baffling and some are the kind of thing you only realise isn’t normal when you say it out loud in front of other people. There’s also a listener question asking what the brothers admire about each other and what drives them mad. It gets unexpectedly wholesome for about 14 seconds before returning to the usual level of sibling irritation. Balance restored. This week’s blind ranking is classic school dinners, which sparks a proper nostalgic debate about turkey twizzlers, cheese whirls, watery veg and the undisputed glory of school pizza. Then the episode dives into listener stories, including early years chaos, questionable show and tell items, awkward school conversations and the sort of incidents that remind you teachers really do need danger money. The lads also run through some of the funniest reasons teachers have had to tell children off, from the ridiculous to the completely unhinged. It’s the kind of section that makes anyone outside education think, “Surely that didn’t happen,” while every teacher listening just nods and goes, “Yep. Standard Tuesday.” And to finish, there’s a brand-new feature: a ridiculous “would you rather” style dilemma for listeners to get involved in. First up: Donald Trump as a pupil in your class for a half term, or Katie Hopkins as a parent for a full year. Horrific either way. Like choosing between wet play and a staff meeting about wellbeing. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO - To know who's job it is to wipe the bums around here!

Back for episode 249 and the lads kick things off right in the middle of SATs week, with the usual frustrations around testing, pressure and the yearly debate over whether SATs are helpful, pointless, stressful or all three at once. There’s also some pre-show nerves creeping in ahead of the biggest live podcast show they’ve ever done at The Lowry, with family, friends, colleagues and even headteachers all heading along to watch. There’s a chat about school podcasts too, with Mr P talking about getting children involved in creating their own school podcast and how brilliant it’s been for confidence, writing and giving pupils a genuine sense of purpose and ownership. From there, things descend into wedding chaos as the lads react to a thread about the wildest things people have witnessed at weddings. It quickly becomes clear that no wedding is safe from disaster. The episode then moves into a brilliant discussion around phrases and sayings people completely mispronounce or misunderstand. It’s one of those conversations where you suddenly realise half the population has been confidently saying things wrong for years and nobody’s corrected them. The lads spiral into the sort of confusion that makes you question whether you’ve been saying common phrases properly your entire life. There’s also a surprisingly deep conversation about school staff rooms and workplace culture after a listener shares a story about being banned from using the staff room during work experience. That leads into this week’s blind ranking: school red flags. Expectations around workload, wellbeing culture, unpaid extras and toxic school habits all get thrown into the mix as the lads debate which warning signs are the biggest indicators that a school might not be quite as supportive as it claims to be. Then comes a huge run of hilarious SATs answers, classroom misunderstandings and accidental pupil comebacks. And by the end of the episode, it’s complete classroom carnage. Quick-fire one-liners, savage pupil responses, accidental insults and absolute chaos from start to finish. One of those episodes where you spend half the time laughing and the other half wondering how teachers survive a full week without losing their minds. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO - To know a jail isn't a 3D Shape

Back for episode 248 and it kicks off with the realities of the summer term: SATs, GCSEs, mocks, revision timetables and that slightly terrifying moment when you realise your children are suddenly much older than your brain has agreed to process. The opening chat turns into a proper reflection on parenting, growing up and those little moments that make you realise time is absolutely flying. There’s also a brilliant thread on clever parenting “hacks”, although most of them are less hack and more just genuinely thoughtful parenting. From encouraging reading and building life skills to quietly teaching responsibility, it’s a lovely reminder that the best parenting tricks are often the ones children don’t realise are tricks at the time. Then it’s time for this week’s blind ranking: fictional teachers. Mr P has to rank which famous screen teachers he’d most want as his parallel teacher, and it brings up everything from inspirational teaching to questionable behaviour management. Some choices are obvious, others are… brave. Let’s just say Miss Honey might not survive a modern Year 6 classroom without serious backup. With SATs week in full swing, the episode then dives into funny test answers and classroom misunderstandings. It’s full of those moments where children technically answer the question… just not in the way anyone expected. There’s maths logic, spelling confusion, history mix-ups and the kind of literal thinking that makes teachers both laugh and question every instruction they’ve ever given. There’s also a run of brilliant misunderstandings from pupils, from mixed-up vocabulary to accidental wordplay and those classic moments where children hear something completely different to what was actually said. As always, the innocence makes it ten times funnier. And finally, the episode ends with a properly awkward school story involving a very serious misunderstanding over an item brought into class. Panic, embarrassment, safeguarding concern, parental conversation… and then the reveal that it was not what anyone thought. Classic school life. Absolute chaos from start to finish. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: If you're going to brag, make sure it is believable

Back for episode 247 and it starts exactly how you’d expect… with absolute nonsense. A new lookalike shout lands for Adam and it might be one of the worst yet. Not even close to flattering, not even accurate… just unnecessarily savage. From there, it spirals into that familiar territory of people wildly overestimating themselves, which sets up the first thread perfectly. We get into “Jay from The Inbetweeners”-level brags, and honestly… the confidence people have is unbelievable. After that, it’s back to classroom life with a blind ranking of maths topics. Then come the teacher burns, and as always, they don’t disappoint. No filter, no intent… just brutal honesty from children. It’s savage, but in that way only primary kids can get away with. And then… the stories. We’re talking full-on classroom chaos and awkward moments that no training prepares you for. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To not announce you're a teacher at a swingers club

Back for episode 246 and it starts with a bit of chaos… a virtual recording and a guessing game as Mr P challenges Adam to work out where he is in the UK using only yes or no questions. There’s also a quick tour plug (that definitely wasn’t meant to be a plug…) with updates on upcoming live shows, including the huge Lowry date and the next run across the UK. From there, it’s straight into a blind ranking of school holidays and it gets surprisingly deep. October half term gets the respect it deserves for saving everyone from that brutal first stretch, Christmas gets called out for not actually being a “break”, and February half term takes a bit of a battering. Naturally, the summer holidays come out on top, followed by a proper rant about why they absolutely should not be shortened — and how the real issue isn’t schools, it’s the wider pressures on families. There’s also a nostalgic detour into what summer used to look like… playing out all day, making games up on the spot, and surviving things like “10 and you’re dead” without any adult supervision. A reminder that boredom wasn’t a problem, it was the starting point for everything. Then it takes a turn. A thread on the most cringe things people have seen at weddings delivers exactly what you’d expect… and worse. We’re talking public oversharing at the altar, couples counting cash gifts in front of guests, Disney mascot outfits, painfully awkward first dances, and some truly baffling “creative” choices that should never have left the planning stage. And then… the main event. Mr P brings in a listener challenge: ranking the most awkward places teachers have bumped into parents. What follows is absolute carnage. It’s one of those episodes where you laugh, wince, and feel slightly better about your own worst moments… because it could always be worse. Much worse. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO - To not let the sun trick us into thinking it is summer.

Back for episode 245 and straight into the summer term chat, the lads kick things off reflecting on the Easter break… or what we all pretend is a break. Adam shares the reality of a family holiday abroad. Meanwhile, Mr P embraces the complete opposite approach and does absolutely nothing, other than going all-in on a serious binge of Game of Thrones with the boys, reliving iconic moments and questioning just how much unnecessary nudity was really needed. There’s also a relatable rant about bank holidays landing in the middle of school breaks (the ultimate teacher scam), the chaos of holiday resort shops, and one very creative bit of parenting on how to explain a questionable t-shirt slogan to a curious child without opening a can of worms you’re not ready for. From there, it’s straight into a brilliant thread of “oops” moments, and honestly, it’s the kind of content that makes you feel instantly better about your own worst day. The episode then shifts into classic school chaos with a run of things children have said that are equal parts ridiculous and genius. From accidental one-liners to completely unfiltered honesty, it’s a reminder that kids will always find a way to humble you in seconds. There’s also a listener dilemma around a colleague not pulling their weight, leading to a really honest conversation about boundaries, workload, and the reality of working in teams. No sugar-coating, just practical advice about having those slightly awkward but necessary conversations and protecting your own time without taking on everyone else’s. The final section is a full-on deep dive into the most shocking things people have witnessed in schools, and it is absolute carnage. We’re talking animals appearing in classrooms, completely inappropriate show and tell items, chaotic behaviour that you couldn’t make up, and moments that range from hilarious to genuinely unbelievable. The infamous “Viagra incident” alone is worth the listen. It’s one of those episodes that perfectly sums up school life. Exhausting, unpredictable, occasionally ridiculous… but always full of stories you’ll be telling for years. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? Two Mr Ps in a Podcast — Bridget Phillipson on the White Paper

This week, Lee sat down with the Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson, to discuss the government's Every Child Achieving and Thriving white paper and the SEND consultation. I thought we would have had a lot more time than we actually had, which meant a few questions I had prepared from the 1,000+ questions submitted weren’t asked. And probably not being able to go back on every answer in the way I'd have liked, but I decided to focus on giving the Ed Sec a chance to bring clarity to some of what had been proposed. There were things left on the table and some answers that deserved more pushback than time allowed. That's worth being upfront about. The conversation covered SEND funding and what the £4 billion investment will actually look like in a mainstream classroom, the new Individual Support Plans, what happens to EHCPs, inclusion bases, the role of SENCOs, support staff pay and recognition, workload concerns including the future of the 1,265 directed hours, early intervention through the Best Start Family Hubs, curriculum changes, and Ofsted's new inspection framework, including whether the data suggests disadvantaged schools are being disproportionately affected. Some of those questions got fuller answers than others. Some of the answers raised further questions we didn't get time to follow up on. That's the reality of a time-limited sit-down with a Secretary of State. The SEND consultation is open now and closes 18 May 2026. Whether you're a teacher, support staff, parent or professional, they're asking for responses - https://consult.education.gov.uk/send-strategy-division/send-reform-putting-children-and-young-people-firs/https://consult.education.gov.uk/send-strategy-division/send-reform-putting-children-and-young-people-firs/  Head to neu.org.uk/abolish-ofsted to find the Ofterd risk assessment guide from the NEU. LO: To know school staff witness and see some shocking stuff

Episode 244 starts with Adam having an absolute stinker of a morning after waking up to discover he's been a victim of fraud with some going on a shopping spree, before drifting into a chat about nights out, drinking culture, getting older, and the strange pressure people put on you to “join in” even when you’re perfectly happy not drinking at all. From there, the episode takes a funny turn into sport, recognition in public and some classic grassroots sport observations, including kids shamelessly copying professional footballers and bringing full Premier League energy to very low-stakes matches. The main thread of the episode is all about the funniest and most painful faux pas people have ever made, and it is packed with properly toe-curling stories. There’s also another blind ranking, this time focused on classic UK playground games, which brings up all the old-school chaos of British Bulldog, Red Rover, Kiss Chase and the rest. The second half of the episode is classic school-story gold. There’s a listener dilemma about a colleague who never comes into the staff room, followed by a long run of completely ridiculous things people have witnessed in schools. As always, the episode finishes with the kind of school-based madness that makes you question how any teacher gets through the week with their sanity intact. It’s packed with awkward moments, unbelievable stories, and the sort of staffroom-style laughter that makes the whole profession feel just a little bit more survivable. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To know things were so much better in the early 2000s

Recorded as the slog towards Easter starts to bite, Episode 243 begins with the lads reflecting on that very familiar point in the term where teacher tiredness properly kicks in. There’s talk of spring optimism (or the lack of it), stress breakouts making a comeback, and the general feeling of clawing your way towards the next holiday while pretending you’re holding it together. The episode kicks off with a nostalgic thread about things from early 2000s Britain people didn’t realise they’d miss so much. From nights out that only required twenty quid and cheap Bacardi Breezers, to bus tickets with McDonald’s vouchers on the back, HMV album hunting, and the days when everyone watched the same TV shows at the same time, it turns into a proper trip down memory lane. The conversation drifts into how technology, phones and streaming have changed the way people experience music, films and nights out, with a discussion about whether unlimited content has actually made things feel less special. There’s also a deeper conversation around social media algorithms and the rise of controversial influencers, sparked by a recent documentary that left the lads equally fascinated and frustrated. They talk about how online platforms amplify extreme voices, the impact this has on young people, and the importance of helping the next generation understand what genuine confidence and respect actually look like. The middle of the episode delivers two classic Two Mr Ps blind rankings. First, a chaotic and slightly ridiculous ranking of infamous film parody titles purely based on wordplay, which quickly descends into uncontrollable laughter. A slightly more sensible blind ranking follows with classroom stationery, where the lads attempt to rank essential classroom items, although the results are somewhat questionable. As always, the second half of the episode is packed with listener stories from schools. There are staffroom oversharing disasters, awkward home visit moments, and one unforgettable nativity-era confession involving a mysterious bright green incident in the staff toilet that led to posters on toilet etiquette appearing around school. There’s also discussion about the most germ-ridden objects in primary schools and the strange realities of working in early years, where absolutely anything can happen. The episode wraps up with a brilliant run of “teacher tired” moments, from accidentally drinking sandpit tea made by reception children to falling asleep in meetings. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Not Blink If You Hear A Splat!

Recorded as spring starts to creep in (even if the weather still can’t make its mind up), Episode 242 begins with the lads reflecting on the strange world of online comments and the fine balance between loving teaching and calling out the frustrations of the system around it. There’s a bit of venting about social media criticism, a reminder of why speaking honestly about education matters, and some lovely listener messages from the recent live tour shows that highlight just how much the podcast and live events mean to people going through difficult times. With the Lowry show edging closer to a potential sell-out, there’s also a big push for the Manchester homecoming gig, which could end up being filmed if the final tickets disappear. From there, the episode takes a detour into a thread about times people have completely misunderstood what an event, film, or experience actually was. From musical theatre mishaps and unexpected concerts to cinema trips that turned out nothing like expected, it sparks a run of stories about assumptions going badly wrong and the awkward moments that follow. The blind ranking returns with a very relatable workplace theme: the different types of colleagues you encounter on a work night out. The second half of the episode is packed with classic listener submissions and classroom chaos. There are brilliant examples of children misunderstanding words and concepts, accidental classroom innuendos, and those unforgettable moments where teachers have to keep a straight face despite what’s just been said. Stories include awkward school trips, workplace misunderstandings, World Book Day mishaps, and the kind of bizarre incidents that only ever seem to happen in schools. As always, it ends with a run of jaw-dropping and slightly grim school moments, including some truly disgusting classroom encounters that will test the stomachs of even the most experienced teachers. Full of laughs, relatable teacher moments, and the sort of stories that make you grateful your own day wasn’t quite that chaotic, Episode 242 is another classic staffroom-style catch-up from the Two Mr Ps. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Know Why You Should Never Bite Your Nails!

Recorded on the back of a huge February half-term tour run, Episode 241 kicks off with a proper thank you to everyone who packed out theatres across the country. From Edinburgh on Valentine’s Day through a full week of shows, the lads reflect on near sell-outs, standing ovations, and just how surreal it feels to have a thousand-plus school staff in a room for a night of laughs. There’s also big news as more dates are added for October and February 2027, with venues across the South and North lined up and the Lowry show in May shaping up to be one of the biggest they’ve ever done. After the tour chat, things take a sharp left into hospital ward drama. A routine visit to see their recovering dad turns into an unexpected soap opera. The blind ranking returns with “types of co-workers.” Thread of the Week then opens the floodgates to hilarious workplace stories beyond teaching. Parents’ evening horror stories make an appearance too. It’s awkward, it’s cringey, and it’s painfully relatable for anyone who’s ever sat behind a tiny table under strip lighting making small talk about phonics. The episode also tackles a genuine dilemma: is it ever okay for a teacher to pursue something romantic with a former pupil once they’re both adults? The lads don’t sit on the fence. There’s the usual run of school-based chaos too, including ridiculous parent complaints, unexpected wildlife incidents in the playground, and one truly grim Year 2 classroom moment involving a “baby worm” discovery that turns into an impromptu lesson on threadworms, nail biting, and professional composure under pressure. LO: To wonder who Mike Upperty is?

Recorded on the very last stretch of half term, Episode 240 is a full-throttle, no-holds-barred pre-tour episode that somehow squeezes in tour hype, wholesome dad moments, pure school chaos, and some of the most jaw-dropping listener stories yet. The episode kicks off with big tour energy as the lads count down to hitting the road, with Edinburgh and Newcastle up first and a final rallying cry for Liverpool later in the month. There’s a heartfelt shoutout to their dad, usual tour driver and provider of legendary anecdotes, who’s currently recovering from a knee replacement and sitting this run out. Then it’s straight back into podcast territory with another blind ranking, this time tackling annual school events. Parents’ evenings, nativity performances, sports days, residentials, fairs, and World Book Day all get thrown into the mix, sparking plenty of debate, mild regret, and strong opinions that teachers will instantly relate to. The bulk of the episode leans hard into listener submissions, starting with brilliantly silly misunderstandings and misheard phrases that people have believed for years, ranging from song lyrics and celebrity names to everyday sayings that suddenly make sense far too late in life. It’s comforting, hilarious, and mildly alarming how many adults are just confidently wrong. Things then escalate into a long run of “how are you still alive?” stories, featuring breathtaking lapses in common sense. it’s a reminder that if you’re going to be dumb, you really do have to be tough. The second half has more school scandal stories. Affairs, shocking rumours, staffroom gossip, wildly inappropriate behaviour, safeguarding nightmares, and the sheer madness that somehow happens in school. The episode finishes strong with a mix of classic teacher horror stories and absolute gold-standard cringe. Chaotic, hilarious, and completely unfiltered, Episode 240 is a proper end-of-half-term brain dump. Equal parts laughter and disbelief, it’s exactly the kind of episode you want before a break… or before seeing the lads live on tour. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Wonder How Some Teachers Have Time For Scandal When We Don't Get A Minute For The Toilet

Episode 239 is a big one. Recorded straight after another padel match that very much did not go Mr P’s way, this episode starts with sore bodies, bruised egos, and the familiar ritual of over-analysing a loss like it’s a post-match Sky Sports interview. There’s tour admin to get through too, with the February half-term shows now dangerously close, a final push for Liverpool, and the lads officially back on the road next week. The episode then shifts into one of the most relatable blind rankings yet: the top things parents do that grind teachers’ gears. From WhatsApp group gossip and unlabeled jumpers to late pick-ups and end-of-day ambush chats, it’s a brutally honest ranking that will have teachers nodding along and parents quietly rethinking their life choices. From there, things take a turn into awkwardness territory. The lads unpack things that happen in films that would be deeply uncomfortable or completely unrealistic in real life, before spiralling into everyday social situations that make people inexplicably cringe. Listener-submitted stories remind everyone that working with children is not for the faint-hearted, featuring bodily fluids, questionable hygiene choices, and moments that genuinely test a teacher’s gag reflex. There’s even one incident involving an Ofsted inspector that might just restore your faith in karma. The final stretch of the episode dives headfirst into full-blown school scandal. Affairs, stock cupboards, staffroom gossip, inappropriate relationships, shocking betrayals, and some jaw-dropping real-life stories that feel more like soap opera plotlines than actual workplaces. It all culminates in a real news story which leaves the lads equal parts horrified, stunned, and laughing in disbelief. As ever, the episode ends with a reminder that if you think your week’s been bad, it probably hasn’t been that bad. Dark, chaotic, and outrageously funny, Episode 239 is not one for the faint-hearted, but it’s classic Two Mr Ps chaos from start to finish. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To feel the cringe with second hand embarrassment

Recorded deep in the never-ending January slump and straight after another padel game, Episode 238 is classic Two Mr Ps energy: slightly smug from a win, physically knackered, and emotionally hanging on by a thread. The lads kick things off with padel chat, tour excitement, and a last call for tickets as the February half-term run creeps ever closer, with plenty of reminders that a night out laughing with other teachers might be the healthiest coping strategy available right now. From there, it’s straight into a listener-favourite blind ranking, this time tackling the ultimate “extras” every teacher secretly dreams of having in their classroom. It quickly turns into a very honest reflection on what actually makes teaching easier day to day, with a few regrets, some strong opinions, and one clear winner that sums up how stretched schools really are. The episode then shifts into a more serious but very familiar rant about phones, social media, trust in teachers, and why schools keep getting lumbered with extra scrutiny for problems that largely come from outside the classroom. There’s frustration, realism, and a clear line drawn between useful technology and the attention-hijacking platforms that are causing far bigger issues for young people and adults alike. After that, things spiral beautifully into pure chaos. There are threads packed with main-character moments that went catastrophically wrong, second-hand embarrassment stories so painful you’ll want to pause the episode, and plenty of smug confidence meeting instant karma. As ever, it proves that humility is underrated and public showboating rarely ends well. The second half is wall-to-wall teacher gold: funny things kids have said, misunderstandings that snowball out of control, accidental innuendos, awkward assemblies, mortifying slips of the tongue, and those moments where professionalism is hanging on by a very thin thread. There’s also a controversial confession that sparks genuine disbelief and a rare moment where the lads draw a firm line on what’s not okay, even by podcast standards. It all wraps up exactly how listeners expect: ridiculous stories, big laughs, shared cringe, and the comforting reminder that no matter how wild your week’s been, someone else’s has definitely been worse. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To be careful leading a Big School Bird Watch assembly

Recorded in peak January survival mode, Episode 237 is a proper classic Two Mr Ps ramble that somehow starts with tour warnings and ends with… absolute school-based chaos. The lads kick things off with a three week countdown to the next run of live shows, a bit of excitement about trialling full video episodes on YouTube, and a surprisingly long detour into haircuts, beards, and the deeply humbling world of acting self tapes, where Adam discovers that “throwing yourself into a role” sometimes just means your partner cry-laughing at you in the kitchen. From there, the episode leans into shared nostalgia and gentle self-ridicule, with stories of teenage acting, questionable school trips from the past, and Mr P very lightly taking credit for helping solve a crime via a Crimewatch reconstruction. As always, confidence is high. Accuracy is optional. The middle of the episode brings back another blind ranking. This time it’s the worst things a member of school staff can hear at 8.30am, prompting some very relatable debate about printers, WiFi, parents asking for “a chat”, and why vague meetings can ruin your entire day before it’s even started. If you’ve ever stood in a classroom mentally reprioritising your will to live before the bell, this bit will hit home. Things then slide neatly into a thread about the worst bits of general knowledge people have ever got confidently wrong, proving once again that adulthood does not guarantee understanding of geography, biology, space, or how the human body works. It’s comforting, alarming, and very funny in equal measure. The second half is packed with what the podcast does best: relentless teacher stories. Quick-fire pupil comebacks, accidental classroom burns, and moments of unintentional brilliance from children who absolutely did not mean to be funny, but very much were. There’s a strong run of anonymous submissions too, covering awkward parent interactions, catastrophic slips of the tongue, staffroom mishaps, EYFS horror stories, and the kind of incidents that could only ever happen in a school and could only ever be laughed about years later. It all builds to a finish that perfectly sums up the podcast: wildly inappropriate visuals, uncontrollable laughter, and the shared understanding that teaching is a job where no amount of training can prepare you for what you’ll actually experience. Chaotic, cathartic, and exactly the sort of episode that feels like a long staffroom chat after a very long day. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Know Who Is Strong, Built and Scary

Recorded straight after a padel game and delivered from a slightly overheated garden studio, Episode 236 is very much a classic Two Mr Ps episode: chaotic, relatable, and held together by teacher tiredness and questionable decision making. The lads kick things off with wellbeing chat, winter survival mode, and the small victories that get you through January, before a quick reminder that the live tour is creeping up fast and having something in the diary can make a genuinely grim half-term feel survivable. From there, the episode leans heavily into what listeners love most: the everyday nonsense of school life. There’s a blind ranking of the most annoying things children say in lessons, plenty of shared frustration about classroom time-wasters, and a deep dive into how rumours start, spread, and somehow become accepted fact in schools, workplaces, and beyond. As always, the stories spiral quickly, proving that children, adults, and the internet are all equally capable of absolute nonsense. The second half is packed with the kind of teacher stories that make you laugh and wince at the same time: accidental innuendos, things kids say with total innocence but disastrous timing, and those moments where you have to keep a straight face despite everything in your body telling you not to. It wraps up with a listener dilemma that touches on authority, humour, and whether staff in leadership roles should be able to take a joke, sparking a surprisingly thoughtful discussion beneath the laughs. It’s one of those episodes that feels like a long staffroom chat at the end of a tough day: lots of laughing, a bit of venting, and the comforting reminder that if your week’s been a mess, you’re definitely not alone. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO - To Know About The Gates of Paradise

Recorded on the first day back after the Christmas break, Episode 235 kicks off with the lads doing what every teacher and school worker is doing right now: pretending they’re “refreshed” while their soul quietly leaves their body. Adam shares a very real festive debrief, with Christmas containing some genuinely lovely moments… and some properly tough ones too, as Max struggles with the change of routine and sleep goes fully off the rails. New Year’s resolutions get a run through, with Adam aiming to sort his eating out (less “accidental fasting followed by a massive pig out”) and the purchase of a new air fryer being presented as the fresh start nobody asked for. Mr P’s resolution is a bit more existential: better phone habits, less doom scrolling, more control over screen time… which is tricky when social media has basically built the whole Mr P empire. He also shares a genuinely terrifying first day back journey involving ice, sliding, and a lorry that nearly turned inset day into a very dramatic insurance claim. From there, the episode shifts into a proper 2025 rewind: favourite films, TV series, trends, songs, and best moments. There’s love for the tour, big family memories, and some surprisingly wholesome reflection, including Mr P’s proudest dad moment of the year. Then it’s straight into what the podcast does best: kids being absolutely unhinged. Adam brings a run of savage pupil comments (including brutal body comments, classic “you’re too old to marry”, and some questions that should never be asked out loud). Mr P adds more of the funniest things teachers have heard, including the sort of innocent one-liners that are hilarious… until you remember you’re the adult in the room and you’re meant to keep a straight face. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? The Two Mr Ps Christmas Special Part 2

Recorded as Part 2 of the Christmas Special, this episode is basically festive story time with no filler, just wall-to-wall chaos from schools and staff rooms. It kicks off with a rapid-fire run of Christmas related parent complaints, the sort that make you question how we’ve survived as a species. From nativity casting drama to utterly wild expectations of what schools should be doing in December, it’s the full “parents at Christmas” bingo card. From there it moves into nativity mayhem: costume misunderstandings, rogue characters, ill timed one liners, performances held together with panic, Blu Tack and pure teacher instinct. Think classic primary school Christmas show energy… but dialled up. Next comes a collection of bizarre and hilarious teacher gifts. Not the usual “we don’t expect anything” bit (which is said, because it’s true), but more the strange, accidental, overly personal or completely unhinged presents that only ever seem to happen in education. Then it turns to staff do confessions and workplace Christmas party stories, ranging from awkward oversharing and cringe flirting to situations that are so chaotic they should come with a safeguarding flowchart. It’s a reminder that a school staff night out is basically a controlled experiment in poor decision-making. There’s also a run of Secret Santa stories, including the type of gift choices that leave an entire staff room silent, plus a few moments that prove Secret Santa is either the best bonding experience in the world or the quickest route to HR. The episode wraps with a big thank you to listeners for sharing stories and supporting the pod and the live tour, plus the usual end of term message: rest up, survive the festive madness, and they’ll be back in January. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? The Two Mr Ps Christmas Special Part 1

Part 1 of the Christmas Special kicks off exactly how most school staff feel by mid-December: exhausted, slightly ill, and crawling towards the finish line like it’s Sports Day in a suit. Adam’s running on fumes, Lee’s been properly hit by the lurgy, there’s a heartfelt bit about how crucial the Christmas break is, even if you’re not a “massive Christmas person”. If you’re sat there thinking you could happily work through it, the lads reckon that’s less festive spirit and more a genuine warning sign. They give another big thank you for the tour love, with the slightly mind blowing update that over 15,000 tickets have sold, plus a reminder that the tour is extending into October 2026 and February 2027. They also have a laugh at the annual “Christmas is being cancelled” crowd, sparked by Tesco calling Christmas trees “evergreen trees”, as if capitalism is suddenly going to stop selling Christmas. The second half is a brilliant thread: “What’s a Christmas tradition your family does that you don’t think anyone else does?” There’s a genuinely lovely bit of reflection too on “presence over presents” and the pressure parents put on themselves to make Christmas perfect, plus how traditions and time together matter more than whatever plastic trend the kids wanted that year. Part 1 ends with the lads deciding to split the Christmas Special into two episodes, because there’s too much festive chaos for one. Part 2 is coming later in the break with even more stories. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO - To Know The End Piece Of A Loaf Is Called The Crust

Recorded right at the business end of term, this episode has full “teacher in December” energy: Lee’s full of lurgy, the voice is hanging on by a thread, and everyone listening will feel very seen. The lads chat about the run-in to Christmas, the looming Christmas special, and that strange mix of exhaustion and silliness that only happens in the last couple of weeks of term. There’s a big chunk of nostalgia and comfort food chat as they get into the truly important question: what do you call the end bit of a loaf of bread? The episode also digs into the chaos of adult life and parenting: how mums and dads handle tech (or don’t), the bizarre logic some parents live by, and the moment you realise the people who told you not to believe everything on the internet now believe everything on the internet. There’s also some big tour news woven through the episode. Off the back of over 15,000 tickets sold, the Let That Be A Lesson tour is being extended with new dates across October 2026 and February 2027, on top of the February and May 2026 shows already announced. It’s the perfect “teacher night out” slash “please save me from another candle set” gift. All dates and tickets are at twomrpspodcast.com. On top of that, TeachMate has had a full glow up and the team are offering free January school trials so staff can hit 2026 with something that actually reduces workload. If you’re SLT, a subject lead, or just the mug who gets given all the jobs, you can get your whole staff set up to try it in the new year. 👉 Free school trial link: https://share-eu1.hsforms.com/1SN__V9WLT7-B4eILexLzQA2fcwrf The episode rounds off with a reminder that next week is the Christmas Special: they want nativity disasters, staff do confessions, dodgy presents, festive fails and all the brilliantly chaotic Christmas stories from school and home. Recorded on the first of December, this episode kicks off with full on festive chat as the lads talk advent calendars, Centre Parcs prices, the joy and absolute faff of Christmas with kids, and the emotional shift from doing the full Father Christmas and elf on the shelf routine to having slightly older children who still love it but in a different way. There is a proper bit of reflection on nostalgia and ageing, from childhood Christmas traditions and Blue Peter badges to the brutal moment you realise you are now older than the characters you grew up watching in classic Christmas films. The big news this week is a huge announcement about the Let That Be A Lesson tour. After selling over fifteen thousand tickets for the current run, the boys reveal that the tour is being extended with brand new dates across the country in October 2026 and February 2027, giving more teachers and school staff the chance to come out, switch off and have a night of classroom chaos stories in real life. This week’s thread looks at things in the UK that have quietly disappeared without anyone really noticing. There is also a run of teacher fails that will make every member of school staff feel instantly better about their own week. From classroom mishaps to unfortunate wording and tech disasters, it is a reminder that everyone in schools is permanently one tired moment away from unintentional chaos. The episode rounds off with a call for Christmas stories for the upcoming festive special: nativity disasters, staff do confessions, dodgy presents, and anything brilliantly chaotic from the Christmas season. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Often Wonder If You've Ever Done The Biggest Poo In The World That Day

In this episode, the Two Mr Ps are back recording virtually in the chaos of late November, catching up on life, school and the absolute slog that is autumn term two. Lee talks about how busy the past few weeks have been with training and travelling, and shares his appreciation for all the lovely messages after his MBE ceremony. There is a bit of telly chat as they recommend a new drama series they are both hooked on and compare that with the reality of trying to watch anything when you have young children and a very creative relationship with the TV remote. The main thread of the episode is built around the question “What is something everybody does but never admits to?” How many of these do you do but would never admit? The conversation then shifts into school life, with a proper chat about teaching assistants and support staff. They unpack why so many TAs say “I am just a TA”, how the system pushes people to feel undervalued, and why in reality schools could not function without them. That leads into a wider discussion about workload, accountability and the impact of inspection culture on staff wellbeing. As always, there are plenty of classroom moments and pupil one liners sprinkled through, capturing the everyday chaos, honesty and unfiltered logic of children in school. Alongside some more funny tales submitted for the live tour that didn't quite make the shows. The lads are gearing up for their annual Christmas special so if you have any funny festive tales, do share. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Remember To Ask The Future King If He Wants To Be A Guest On The Pod!

Welcome back to another episode of Two Mr Ps in a Podcast! It’s a big one this week as the lads sit down to record on a very special day, the day Lee received his MBE at Windsor Castle from none other than Prince William. From being suited and booted to explaining TeachMateAI to the heir to the throne, Lee shares every detail of the surreal experience, including a story about his dad making quite the royal impression in the toilets of Windsor. Before that, the brothers look back on their final live show of 2025 in Belfast at the iconic Ulster Hall. From 200 people in their first ever Belfast gig to more than 800 this time round, it’s been an unbelievable journey though The Other Mrp still hasn’t learned his pre-show “don’t eat the mixed grill” lesson. Cue kebabs, chaos, and one very unexpected chat with a tipsy local who mistook them for a different nationality. Then it’s back to classroom life with a brilliant thread on “What would shock your 13-year-old self about who you’ve become?” There’s also a round-up of teacher call-and-response fails, awkward classroom moments , and a few classic listener stories that go from pure innocence to total chaos. To finish, the lads tackle your listener questions from how to handle job rejection to which famous person they’d bring back for a chat and Adam gives his glowing review of seeing Five live (complete with a few unexpected fan encounters). The lads are gearing up for their annual Christmas special so if you have any funny festive tales, do share. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? Welcome back to another episode of Two Mr Ps in a Podcast as the lads return for Autumn 2 after a hectic few weeks on the road. It has been a rollercoaster since half term, from hospital trips and sleepless nights to a marathon run of sold-out live shows that saw almost 8,000 of you join the fun across the country. The Mr Ps share their gratitude for everyone who came along, laughed, cheered, and made the Let That Be a Lesson tour the biggest and best yet. They chat about the whirlwind of the October tour run including highlights from Manchester, Rhyl, Exeter, London, and Brighton before revealing how their first-ever American TV appearance didn’t quite go to plan. A Chinwag with Dr Kaitlyn Regehr

After reading her book, "Smartphone Nation," over the summer, I'm really excited to sit down for a chinwag with Dr Kaitlyn Ragehr. As a Digital Humanities professor at University College London, she spends a significant amount of time examining the impacts of social media, particularly on young people. Hopefully, you find this a fascinating listen. After reading her book, I made changes to the way I look and think about social media and my smartphone use, and maybe after hearing this, you might too. https://profiles.ucl.ac.uk/88177-kaitlyn-regehr Don't forget, we're out on tour and you can still get tickets! 📍 Dates & Venues: 🎭 October 2025 18th: Manchester, Aviva Studios 🐝 24th: Rhyl, Pavilion Theatre 🌊 25th: Northampton, Derngate 🏰 26th: Hull, City Hall 🎟️ 27th: Reading, Concert Hall 📚 28th: Exeter, Corn Exchange 🌽 29th: London, Hackney Empire 🎡 30th: Worthing, Assembly Hall 🌅 31st: Guildford, G Live 🎶 🎭 November 2025 1st: Torquay, Babbacombe Theatre 🌴 15th: Belfast, Ulster Hall 🍀 🎭 February 2026 14th: Edinburgh, Queen’s Hall 🎻 15th: Newcastle, Tyne Theatre 🎭 17th: Birmingham, Town Hall 🏙️ 18th: Sheffield, Memorial Hall 🧱 19th: Leicester, De Montfort Hall 🦊 20th: Bradford, St George’s Hall 🏰 22nd: Cardiff, New Theatre 🏉 🎭 May 2026 22nd: Salford, The Lowry 🎨 🎟️ Grab your tickets now at 2mrpspodcast.com/live 🎟️ 👯‍♀️ Tag your teacher crew, bring your mates, and let’s make this tour UNFORGETTABLE! 💃🙌🔥 Learn more about your ad choices. LO: To know the first live show of the new tour will take some beating!

Welcome back to another episode of Two Mr Ps in a Podcast as we hit the final stretch before the October half-term. Whether you’re already off or crawling to the finish line, this one’s packed with laughs, nostalgia, and a few moments of pure disbelief. The lads kick things off still buzzing from their sold-out hometown show at Manchester’s Aviva Studios, reflecting on the biggest show of the podcast so far. From pre-show nerves and backstage chaos to an unexpected clash with a very different performance happening in the same venue, they share all the behind-the-scenes highs and hiccups from the launch of the Let That Be a Lesson live tour. Then it’s straight into this week’s thread, exploring things people thought were luxuries growing up. From sharing bedrooms and recording Sky Plus shows on VHS to the magic of a Viennetta on Christmas Eve, the brothers dive into a proper trip down memory lane complete with nostalgic meals, questionable fashion choices, and a few budget holiday memories that every 80s and 90s kid will relate to. The episode also features a hilarious round-up of autocorrect fails, including some shocking typos, red-faced emails, and texts that could have ended careers (or relationships). The chaos doesn’t stop there, as the Mr Ps wrap up with a fresh batch of “O” moments — the jaw-dropping things teachers, colleagues, and parents have actually said in schools. From mix-ups about history and science to unforgettable classroom blunders, it’s a perfect reminder that sometimes laughter really is the only option. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Try And Get Some Sleep Before Our Biggest Show To Date!

Welcome back to another episode of Two Mr Ps in a Podcast as the lads record their final episode before the Let That Be a Lesson Live Tour officially kicks off this weekend at the Aviva Studios in Manchester. With 1,200 tickets snapped up, it is a sell-out, the biggest show we have done to date and the excitement (and nerves) are very real. The brothers chat about tour prep, the sleepless nights, and the sheer pride of seeing how far the podcast has come. From humble beginnings to performing in front of huge audiences, they reflect on what makes the show special, a mix of raw honesty, relatable chaos, and proper teacher humour. Once the warm-up chat is done, they dive into this week’s thread: the co-workers who ruined it for everyone. Basically don't involve alcohol and Hawaiian shirts. There are also some brilliantly cringe and laugh-out-loud listener stories, from accidental PDA encounters and embarrassing mix-ups to school scandals, awkward misunderstandings, and one unforgettable tale about a classroom spider incident that spirals wildly out of control. As always, it’s an episode full of teacher laughs, relatable moments, and the kind of storytelling that reminds you why this podcast has built such a loyal community. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To always bring tissues to assembly!

Welcome back to another episode of Two Mr Ps in a Podcast as the countdown to the Let That Be a Lesson tour officially begins! With less than two weeks to go before the first show, the lads are buzzing with excitement (and a few nerves) as they share their final tour prep chaos and tell everyone to get their tickets from 2MrPsPodcast.com rather than Ticketmaster. It’s also a special one as they celebrate the Other Mr P’s birthday, which sparks a nostalgic chat about birthdays past, from McDonald’s parties and bowling trips to now preferring a quiet night in and an early bedtime. They also reflect on how birthdays change as you hit your late thirties, why organising plans feels like a full-time job, and how unpredictable British storms and sleepless kids can ruin even the best intentions. The episode’s main thread explores the oddest reasons children have tantrums, and it’s packed with laugh-out-loud stories every parent and teacher will relate to. From arguments with shadows and meltdowns over the moon to heartbreak over cheese, bleach and “big ham,” the Mr Ps read through the most ridiculous, baffling and brilliant tales of tiny humans losing it over absolutely nothing. They then turn their attention to some truly unhinged teacher moments, reading a thread of the most diabolical things teachers have said to students, the kind that make you question how some people ever worked in a school. Expect equal parts disbelief, outrage and laughter. And if that wasn’t enough, the episode ends with another round of unbelievable parent encounters, from oversharing at parents’ evening and unexpected hospital visits to ferret-stroking during meetings and awkward supermarket run-ins. There are moments of pure cringe, accidental innuendo, and more stories that prove truth really is stranger than fiction in the world of education. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Never Place A Bet On A Student

The Mr Ps are back with Season 9, Episode 3, and it’s a wild one from start to finish! After surviving a hectic week, the lads catch up on all things tour prep as the countdown is officially on. With over 12,000 tickets already sold, they share their excitement (and nerves!) as the live shows get closer. Adam opens up about his big career change after eight years at his school, reflecting on an emotional farewell and the new challenge ahead. Just as things get heartfelt, the episode takes a chaotic turn when recording is interrupted by a family emergency or is all not what it seems? Lee relives the incredible Oasis reunion at Wembley, getting nostalgic about sharing the experience with his daughter and proving why some gigs live with you forever. From there, the brothers dive into this week’s thread all about the pettiest and most unforgettable grudges from school, whether it’s missed opportunities, unfair detentions, or teachers who underestimated pupils who went on to prove them wrong. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a round-up of hilarious classroom comebacks and awkward parent encounters that leave you cringing and crying with laughter in equal measure. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? LO: To Always Check Who You've Sent The Text To!

Welcome back! Season 9, episode 2 lands with the Mr Ps settling into the new school year. There’s a quick (and pointed) nod to Ofsted’s latest shenanigans, then straight into good news: the live tour is flying thanks to you, wonderful people. Manchester is sold out, more dates are close, and you can still submit anonymous stories that might be read on stage. Thread of the week is a beauty: the worst messages sent to the wrong person. Expect workplace whoopsies, panicked “delete for everyone” attempts, and career-limiting replies. There’s accidental shade fired at bosses, heartfelt texts meant for partners delivered to parents, and autocorrect chaos that turns totally normal updates into… very not-normal ones. Family group chats aren’t safe, emergency features trigger at the worst times, and a few innocent typos escalate faster than a staffroom rumour. From there, there are some fantastic comebacks from students to teachers, teachers to students and students to other students, some brutal, some shocking but all hilarious. As ever, no spoilers—just enough to whet your appetite. 📬 Want your story featured on the pod? A Chinwag with George Lewis

In this episode, the lads are joined by none other than George Lewis – stand-up comedian, writer and actor. They chat all things parenting, comedy and life on the road, with plenty of laughs and honest reflections along the way. George opens up about his son’s love of football and how the club’s support has meant the world to them 💙. He shares his experience of balancing being a dad of three with performing his biggest tour to date – and how he’s managing to stay off the late-night drive-thru stops (just about!). The conversation turns to school life as George reflects on his own school days, how different schools feel today, and whether he can decode teaching acronyms like PPA and PSHE 🤔 after being married to a teacher. He also talks about the rise of his parenting content online and how it has grown to lead to where he is today. 🎟️ George is currently on tour with his stand-up show George Lewis: The Best Thing You’ve Ever Seen (Live) — and tickets are still available, including his biggest ever date at The Lowry this November. Head to georgelewiscomedian.com to book! As always, share your stories, confessions, questions or dilemmas here: 👉 2mrpspodcast.com – and they might be featured in a future episode.
