I've seen the thread on Facebook for funny things that happened during an interview

and wanted to share this story.

The school I was teaching at, we're interviewing for a Spanish teacher to come in one day a week

as a committed MFL leader, basically a blagger who got given the subject when no one else wanted

it.

I was asked to sit in on the lesson observations.

The first candidate was observed and was asked to teach year six.

He taught a brilliant lesson and was young

and energetic. The children loved him and he was perfect for the job. He finished the lesson

and gathered his belongings as he was waving and saying adios to the children. He opened the

door to the stock cupboard, which I presumed he thought was the

classroom door, walked in and closed the door. Everyone just looked around expecting him to

come back out. All the children were just looking around wondering what to do, as were the adults.

After what felt like about 10 minutes, he eventually came back out,

didn't address that he'd accidentally got into the stock cupboard

and just continued waving and saying adios.

Of course, he was given the job, and to this day,

he is still reminded of how he walked into the stock cupboard.
