| 0:00.0 | Hello there. Welcome back to Run Pod, where runners unite all of them. Fast, slow, gazelles, plodders. I'm Jenny Faulkner, and I'm delighted this week to have a friend of mine as a guest and talk all things running. She's someone you will probably have heard on the radio. Her gorgeous voice is on |
| 0:22.7 | heart. But more than that, she also has a huge parenting podcast with her friend Georgie. It's |
| 0:27.3 | made by mamas. You might well have listened to that too. She's been on screen for years. She's |
| 0:32.5 | someone you know, it's Zoe Hardman. Hello. Yeah, I love the intro. It's normally me doing intro, so I was quite looking forward to that. |
| 0:41.0 | I know it's so strange. When you've got your own podcast and then you're introduced on someone else's, |
| 0:45.3 | I don't know about you, but I'm also someone that doesn't like other people asking the questions. |
| 0:49.6 | Are you going to be difficult here? |
| 0:51.2 | No, no. I'm really looking forward to it actually. Well, you said that. |
| 0:54.2 | When you came on our podcast, you were like, I'm really not used to this. Because actually, |
| 0:57.5 | I'd never heard you speaking about being a mum, except for like conversations that we'd had. So, |
| 1:02.1 | yeah, no, I'm looking forward to this. Try and just try and stop me. Okay. Well, I mean, I know that |
| 1:06.8 | you've been going out running quite a lot, But it is nice to talk about fitness and exercise, because ultimately, before you were a mum, before you had, you know, had your kids and got married, |
| 1:15.9 | you were always doing exercise anyway. So it's something that's like a real passion of yours. |
| 1:19.7 | Yeah. I was thinking about this this morning because I was really looking forward to doing this chat. |
| 1:23.2 | Exercise for me has been something that I've done since I can remember. It was such a huge part of my upbringing. You know, we were always outside, running around in the fields, climbing trees. I had a really idyllic childhood, which involved being outside a lot. We were spending a lot of time in Kenya. I started running when I was really young. I started competing at school. You know, I was doing athletics and rounders and, you know, hockey, netball, you name it, I was doing it. |
| 1:49.2 | And 800 metre running was always my thing growing up. |
| 1:52.2 | So, you know, for me, it was like there wasn't, it wasn't one of those moments where I suddenly thought, well, I'm 21 now. |
| 1:58.2 | I should probably start doing some exercise. |
| 1:59.9 | It was like, if I don't exercise, it wouldn't be my life, you know? |
| 2:05.0 | It's so much intrinsically part of my makeup and who I am, and it makes me feel so amazing. |
| 2:10.2 | And on the days that I don't get to exercise, I definitely feel a dip. |
| 2:13.0 | So, yeah, and running, you know, I've been on such an incredible journey with my running, with all my injuries and, you know, now feeling in a place where I'm sort of getting back. It's so exciting. I love it. I was saying to Dozie yesterday how much, how happy I am at the moment because I'm back road running. |
