Welcome everyone to Radio Headspace. I'm your host, K-Sunga.

So today, I'm continuing to share positive mindful moments that I've noticed in my everyday life.

Meaning, times that I've felt completely present, not thinking about anything or what's happening right then.

And my hope in sharing these stories is that it will prompt you to be present in your own life,

whether it's learning a new skill, being with your loved ones, or visiting a beautiful place.

Speaking of which, this week my moments have come from a recent trip to Paris that I was fortunate enough to have taken with my lovely family.

Believe it or not, it was our very first time in Europe, and we allowed ourselves to do all of the touristy stuff,

the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, a boat ride along the River Senn.

But I have to say that for me, the most enjoyable excursion was when we went to Giverny and explored Claude Monet's home.

This is the mindful moment for today, and it's all about using your surroundings to spark creativity.

So for those that do not know who Claude Monet is, he's one of the most famous and prolific French painters in history.

He is the founder of Impressionist Painting, which is a style of painting that's all about depicting an impression of movement,

like ballerinas dancing, or boats at sea.

Much of Monet's work is inspired by the nature that surrounded his home, so actually visiting his home is kind of a big deal.

It's a huge tourist attraction, and it did not disappoint.

Not only was the home itself awesome, but to get there we traveled through a beautiful, picturesque countryside,

tons of greenery, flowers everywhere, and the beauty just continued once we arrived at Monet's house.

The grounds where the house sat had a beautiful gentle pond and stream, and immaculate gardens.

I imagine how wonderful it was for Monet to create in such an environment.

It must have been just so inspirational and just, well, fun.
