0:37.4	John Hagadorn today I'm taking you to Crete the largest and most populous of the Greek islands and the fifth largest
0:44.8	island of the Mediterranean Sea.
0:47.1	It's located 99 miles south of the Greek mainland.
0:51.6	Crete is very mountainous and beautiful, with rivers pouring from the highlands to the sea,
0:56.0	and the shores littered with coves, inlets, and tiny islands.
1:00.0	Its mountains are a source of pride to the Cretian people.
1:04.0	Cretans love their country which became a Greek state in 1913.
1:09.0	The tourism friends website at loving Crete.com features a section called
1:15.6	the Amari Valley, the Hidden Diamond and describes the Fertile Valley as being an
1:21.0	enchanting region perched 1800 feet above sea and boasting an
1:24.9	idyllic climate.
1:27.0	It is indeed a serene and picturesque valley nestled between the mountains, a hidden treasure

1:41.2	And in the spring, the cherry trees bloom and transform the valley into a sea of white.

1:50.4	The villages are all connected by a single winding road and the area remains a hidden gem for the few tourists who come there.
