Summary

Palm Sunday began with “Hosanna”… and ended with “Crucify Him.”

Why? Because Jesus didn’t meet their expectations.

In this episode, we wrestle with a hard truth: sometimes Jesus won’t fix the thing you’re asking Him to fix—because He’s going after something deeper.

The question is… if He doesn’t show up the way you hoped, will you still trust Him as King?

This past Sunday was Palm Sunday.

If you remember the story, it's where Jesus is coming into Jerusalem.

He's making a triumphal entry on a donkey.

The crowds are gathered and they have palm leaves and they are waving the palm leaves and

they're singing, Hosanna, Hosanna.

Hosanna is not a word that we use very often in our language and in our day of age.

We actually see it the first time in Psalm 118, and it's a corporate

worship song. The church is singing in Psalm 118. They're saying, save us, God, please save us.

That's how we translate it in English, but that phrase, save us, God, or please save us, is the word

Hosanna in the original Hebrew. And so you see that same phrase, the crowds are singing that same song.

And from Psalm 118, they're singing, save us.

And you could imagine as the crowds are there, they have all kinds of ideas of what saving them would look like.

They feel like they are persecuted or they are outcast or second class citizens.

And so as they're saying, save us, God save us, Hosanna, they likely have a very specific agenda

life. And I just imagine that as Jesus is hearing the crowd say, Hosanna, save us, save us,

that he thinks to himself, I'm going to save you, but not at all in the way that you think I'm going
