Summary

How often do you spend time thinking about what’s possible for you? As women, we’re socialized to make ourselves small and not go after what we really want. That in order to have what we want, we have to suffer for it now to get our ‘reward’ later. But when we surround ourselves with other people who can help us hold space for the larger vision we really want for our lives, that’s when the “impossible” really starts to feel possible. Listen to this special episode to learn why we’re really afraid to imagine what’s possible and how women are changing their lives inside the Clutch. Doors to the Clutch are open now through November 8, 2022.

Hello my chickens. Here's a question I want to post to you today. How often do you spend time

0:07.2

thinking about what is possible for you? How often do you spend time imagining what you could

0:16.0

create or experience in the world that currently seems beyond your imagination? I think that as

0:22.8

women we are literally taught not to do this, but we are taught to keep ourselves small and be

0:31.6

grateful for what we have and be humble and not think too well of ourselves and not assume that

0:38.6

we might deserve or be entitled to or just be capable of creating an incredible life that is

0:45.2

actually everything we want. I think that we as like a human people or just as a society have

0:53.5

conflated the idea that of course you can't control everything in the world with the idea that

0:59.5

you can't have everything you want. And it's like such an important difference. It's true that if

1:05.7

you don't do anything and you wait for the world to happen to you, you will most likely not

1:11.1

get everything you want. And of course there will be some things that happen in the world that we

1:16.1

didn't want. But things happening that you don't want is not the same as not being able to

1:21.9

go out and create the things that you do want. And I think that we are so used to kind of squashing

1:29.4

our own dreams and our own desires that we don't even realize that. And this happens no matter

1:35.6

how successful you are. I see this in myself and it's coming up from you right now because I

1:42.6

invested in quite a lot in coaching and joined a mastermind with people in it who are some

1:50.7

have smaller businesses in me, somewhere around me and somewhere away beyond me. And when I look

1:55.2

at them and I think about the idea of my business growing to have that impact and that reach

2:00.4

and to create that much revenue and to change that many people's lives and to have that global profile,

2:06.9

it's like I won't even let myself imagine it sometimes. And as I've been realizing that I've

2:12.4

been realizing that all of you are probably doing that too. You are probably not letting yourself

2:18.4

truly imagine what's possible for you because of all of the conditioning that tells us to shut it
