Summary

You Had Me at Black returns with our fifth season on August 1! This season we travel to Houston, LA and Chicago. Here's the host Martina with a introduction to Season 5.

oh yeah. Hey, welcome to season five of you had me at Black. I'm Martina Abraham Zalunga.

It has been quite a while and you might have wondered what the hell happened to these guys.

We haven't put out a story in several months.

And you might remember that last summer we ran a crowdfunding campaign to bring our live shows and

our kickbacks to different cities across the US and we set out to do so as a way

for us to capture more stories from different

voices and to connect with people who are doing really great work in their

communities. And so that's what we've been doing.

The last few months, we've gone to Houston and LA

and Chicago, and it's been a beautiful experience.

And we've captured some really incredible and raw and touching stories that we can't wait to share with you this season.

But on that journey we also learned a few things.

So we're a small and mighty team of all volunteers and we can produce

podcast and we can produce some great events, but it's really challenging for our

team to do both. As a result our podcast production suffered. So after five

cities our team is taking a break from our live shows and our kickbacks to reset and

recalibrate.

But let's get into season five.

As we traveled and talked to different people and met different storytellers, we realize that family

is something that's really weighing on folks' minds and on their hearts, whether it was a family
