| 0:33.7 | on the final episode of our series on the Yamas of Pantanjali, the ancient sage |
| 0:44.1 | from India, who wrote a book called the Yoga Sutras how to live your life |
| 0:51.6 | according to yoga principles, how to elevate your consciousness and he has |
| 1:00.6 | five Yamas and five Niyamas. They have to do with how you behave outwardly in the |
| 1:12.2 | world and also inwardly toward yourself. They're often regarded as moral codes |
| 1:21.1 | or ways of right living. So we're starting with the Yamas in last week's series |
| 1:30.7 | you discovered the first Yamma which is non-violence, Ahemsa. This week you've |
| 1:38.1 | explored all week long satya or truthfulness. This has to do with truthfulness in the |
| 1:46.2 | words you speak in your actions as well as in your thoughts. And when you're not |
| 1:54.5 | sure as to whether or not you should speak your truth because sometimes the |
| 2:04.1 | truth can hurt. Consider the first Yamma of non-violence or non-harm and |
| 2:14.0 | consider if your truth is harmful to yourself or to others. And if it is then |
| 2:22.9 | maybe it's a truth that's not ready to be shared at this moment because we all |
| 2:32.0 | evolve at our own pace and sometimes people just aren't quite ready for some |
| 2:42.2 | truth to be revealed about them. It could really be harmful to someone. I think you |
| 2:48.5 | may have experienced this kind of cold hard truth in your own life and sometimes |
| 2:57.3 | it can be necessary but sometimes it can just simply be pretty traumatic and so |
| 3:06.7 | consider the first Yamma as a filter before you speak truth. In your thoughts, |
