Hi, this is Kaisanga and I welcome you this Monday to Radio Headspace.

One of the roles I take very seriously in my life is that being a father.

I have two precious daughters that are complete chatterboxes and I say that in a very loving way.

They always have a lot on their mind and they need to get it out.

Obviously, I'm not always available to talk as I may be working or having a conversation with my wife.

Who's a lovely chatterbox in her own right?

But I really try to be present with them as much as possible.

I remember my father was always there for me and he still is to this day actually.

And it makes a world of a difference. So I have a great example to follow.

So when my girls come to talk to me, I purposely set the intention to just listen.

Allow them to just spew everything that's on their mind.

The only time I stop them is when I hear something that can be dangerous to their physical or emotional well-being.

This happened once when my daughter expressed interest in a certain field of study.

Just because one of her good friends was also pursuing that field of study.

I immediately recognized it as a teaching moment.
