The Bert Show. All right, so it's been a couple of days here since we talked to Melanie. So just as a quick recap here, here's who Melanie is and why she called us. I was out with my girlfriends on Saturday night. We met some guys, and I was talking to this one guy all night. But then they left, and he didn't get my phone number. But then one of his friends came back in and said he wanted to get your phone number. So he's been texting all week. But he's made two texts, sent two texts. I'm not sure if he knows who he's talking to. All right. So does that make it entirely clear who she is? I think so. I mean, she thought that he was getting a couple of the details wrong when he was texting with her. So she was afraid when she showed up for the date, he was going to be expecting it to be one of her friends that she was with, not her. Wasn't there like some kind of psychological weight loss issue thing going on here also? Like, she had mentioned how in high school she was bigger than she is now. And so I think that we felt like a lot of her interpretation of everything that was going on was based on the fact that she felt, I guess, the sense of rejection or fear of rejection.

And we were like, you got to get that out of your head.

Insecure.

1:03.8

Yeah, absolutely.

So we sort of talked her into going on the date and just say, you know what?

Let's let Destiny take over.

What's the worst thing that can happen, right? But we never checked back in with her. So, let's find out what happened. Hey, Melanie. Hey, guys. How are you? Good. How are you today? Good. Thanks. All right. So the last time we checked in with you, you were just throwing caution to the wind, and you're going to go for it. Like, what's the worst thing that can happen? He sees you, you see him, it's uncomfortable. Wrong person. You have a couple of drinks, and then you go your way, he goes his way, but at least you gave it a shot. So how did it up? Well, after I talked to you guys, and I decided I was going to call him, like I was just going to put it out there because I didn't want to just show up, I just thought, I'm just going to call on and put caution to win and call him.

He answered the phone, because obviously it's the number he's been texting all week. And I said, hey, I said, you know, I just wanted to call you because I kind of think he said, are we going out tonight? And I said, yeah, I said maybe. I said, but I kind think you're talking, you might be possibly talking to the wrong girl.

2:09.2

I said, just by the things you said, and we went through the mall, and he said, you know what, he said, to be honest, I really did think you're someone else.

2:11.9

He said, but I enjoyed talking to you that night, too.

2:14.6

So let's, you know, meet up at Maggiano's.

2:15.6

Okay. Okay, cool.

2:16.9

So you kind of cleared the air before it started.

2:19.2

So I got there early.

2:21.6

Uh-huh.

2:22.7

And he never showed up.

2:25.0

He never showed up.

2:26.5

Oh, no.

2:27.1

Oh, what a tool.

2:28.8

No way.

2:29.6

I can't believe he did that.

2:31.9

And I texted him and he never wrote me back.
