The President of the United States responding to reports that the U.S. Congress while continuing

to negotiate over the ceiling, over money, over the federal government staying open.

The President also is responding to the reluctance, refusal, obteracy of parts of the Congress,

the Republican Party, to continue funding for the Ukraine War unless and therein lies the

tale.

I welcome Katrina Vanenhovel, the editorial director and publisher of the Nation magazine,

as well as a Washington Post correspondent.

Katrina, the remarks by the President in these last hours, I can reassure Ukraine will get

there that we're going to get it done.

I want to assure our American allies that you can count on our support.

You will not walk away.

The walking away part is an exaggeration at this point, however, there is dissent.

There's dissent in the Congress.

We've noted it for some time, especially in the Republican Party.

There's dissent in Europe and who elections in Slovakia.

There's dissent in Hungary, well known.

There's dissent in Poland, a spat between Warsaw and Berlin.

How do you measure the dissent now that Mr Biden must respond to in the United States?

Is it substantive?

Are we looking at partisan snipers?

I think it's substantive in the sense that it's a legitimate role for Congress to question

the exit strategy.
