Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, Donald Trump's running mate

said that the Democrats switched to Kamala Harris was a sucker punch.

Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio is the Republican nominee for Vice President.

He made the comments at a private fundraiser in Minnesota on Saturday.

He told donors, quote, the bad news is that Kamala Harris does not have the same baggage as

Joe Biden, because whatever we might have to say, Kamala is a lot younger, and Kamala Harris is obviously not struggling in the same ways that Joe Biden did. This admission is at odds with the Trump campaign's public projections of confidence after Joe Biden dropped

out of the race this month.

And polling shows voters do like Harris more than Biden.

Meanwhile, Harris still has to select her own running mate.

She's considering roughly a dozen contenders.

One of her options was North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, but he withdrew from consideration

yesterday.

Harris intends to make a choice before August 7th.

That's when the Democratic Party will nominate its presidential ticket
