The top political leader of Hamas was killed in Iran.

The Palestinian militant group Hamas is divided into military and political wings.

The group's political leader was Ismailiel Hania. He lived and worked in exile in Qatar. His job was to be the face of Hamas, to spread the group's political rhetoric and to raise money to fund its operations. Hamas said this morning that he was killed in Tehran after attending the inauguration

of Iran's new president. It's unclear how he was killed. Hamas called it an

assassination and blamed Israel, but Israel has not commented on the killing.

Hania is the most high-profile Hamas leader to be killed since the group attacked

Israel on October 7th, sparking a war that has devastated Gaza.

Foreign officials, including Iran's president, have condemned the killing,

and it's feared it could lead to even more violence in the region.

Number two, Vice President Harris held a raucous rally in Atlanta last night.

It was her presidential campaign's largest rally to date,

and it was energetic in ways the Democratic Party has arguably not seen in years.

The event featured some of Georgia's most prominent politicians, and the rappers Quaveo and Megan the Stallion.

When Harris took the stage, she said that Donald Trump and his running mate J.D. Vance are just plain

weird.

And she challenged Trump to debate her.
