Pamela Harris is closing in on the Democratic presidential nomination.

Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Yesterday, the Vice President passed a crucial milestone.

She secured pledges of support from a majority of delegates

to the Democratic National Convention. That means Harris is

likely to become the nominee next month following President Biden's withdrawal

from the contest on Sunday. The nominee will be selected through a virtual process that will conclude by August 7th.

That's before the convention in Chicago.

Hours before Harris reached the delegate milestone,

she kicked off her presidential campaign with a visit to Wilmington, Delaware.

So in the next 106 days, we have work to do.

We have doors to knock on. We have people to talk to. We have phone calls to make and

we have an election to win.

After weeks of infighting over Biden's candidacy, the Democratic Party has quickly

unified around Harris. But voters in key swing states don't appear so sure.

This morning, the Post the Schar School at George

Mason University released a poll of voters from six battleground states.

Overall 55 of the 152 voters who responded said positive things about Harris's candidacy.

53 of them offered negative views. Others were neither fully positive nor fully

negative or were just unsure of what they thought.
