First up, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Russian troops in Ukraine. The Kremlin said today

that Putin went to the Herson and Luhansk regions. It's not clear when the visit

took place but it's the second time in recent months that he's made a surprise visit.

Vladimir Karamursa was sentenced yesterday to 25 years in prison in Russia for criticizing the war in Ukraine.

Outside the courthouse, U.S. Ambassador to Russia, Lynn Tracy, spoke to the press after the decision.

The court's decision today to sentence Vladimir Karamursa to 25 years in prison is an attempt

to silence dissent in this country. We will continue to call for his release.

Criminalization of criticism of government action is a sign of weakness not strength.

Number two, a man was charged yesterday with shooting a black teen who rang his doorbell.

The incident took place Thursday in Kansas City, Missouri. 16-year-old Ralph Yarl had been on his way to pick up his siblings,

but rang the doorbell of the wrong house.

Prosecutor say an 84-year-old white man shot Y'all twice, once in the head.

He's now recovering from his injuries at home.

The 84-year-old has been charged with felony assault and armed criminal action.

The shooting has drawn national attention. Hundreds of protesters

rallied Sunday outside the home where y'all was shot and there are more protests
