Summary

Stage 6 of the Tour de France was not only the third sprint in this year’s race, spanning 160 km from Tours to Châteauroux, it was also the stage that Mark Cavendish first won back in 2008.

Faced with tough sprint competition from Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Fenix), Nacer Bouhanni (Team Arkéa Samsic) and Arnaud Démare (Groupama - FDJ), we couldn't help but wonder: could the Manx Missile do it again? Or is it time that we all move on from the dream that Mark Cavendish can beat Eddy Merckx's record and leave the poor Brit alone?

0:46.5

I'm afraid you made a mistake going outside because action didn't happen at the start of the stage.

0:51.4

We had a break away. That was very interesting to the point that I was like,

0:55.2

could this break away actually win with 150 K to go?

0:58.6

So that question arose, which means that it has to be a solid break away.

1:02.9

That included the following riders, Stolzehend, for Lotto Sudau, no sprinter there,

1:07.2

Calebeons out of the race, George Zimmerman for one tee,

1:10.3
