Summary

Ever since RunPod started, there’s been one man that Jenni has been desperate to talk to. He’s run where few men have run before....in outer space. In this episode, Major Tim Peake joins the RunPod run club and they discuss what on Earth it’s like to run in space! They chat about the level of physical fitness required to become an astronaut, what happens during the selection process and discover the gruelling side of the training programme. There is much to learn about working out in space and Tim explains about the recovery process on returning to Earth. It is a truly fascinating listen, one to listen to whether you’re running, sitting or staring into space.

have the most unique running story of all.

0:59.6

I mean, it's pretty special to be up in space and to be able to go running and run on a treadmill.

1:05.1

It's fantastic experience.

1:06.8

Yeah.

1:07.2

We are going to talk a lot more about this.

1:08.8

First of all, I just want to say congratulations on the new book. You have launched a new book, Limitless. It's your autobiography and it's brilliant. It gives you an insight and everything. In fact, it charts your journey really from growing up when you're younger, right through being, you know, pilot, going through the army and also then right up to training to be an astronaut in there as well.

1:28.5

Yes, yeah. I mean, there's a long road to becoming an astronaut. And when I go around and

1:33.2

speak to school, children, students at university, and they always, what do I need to do? What do I

1:37.7

to do? And well, there's no set path. And the most important thing is to do what you're
