Hello again. Welcome back. It's good to have you here. And my guest this week is Tim Brown, the founder and

CEO of Allbirds, the revolutionary footwear company built on simplicity and sustainability.

Allbirds is now valued at over a billion dollars. Their shoes have become quite popular,

ubiquitous around the world. but they started from very humble

beginnings as just an idea inside the brain of our guest, Tim Brown. Now at the time Tim was a

professional soccer player who eventually made his way to the pinnacle of his sport when he

ultimately represented his country, his home

country of New Zealand in the 2010 World Cup that was held in South Africa.

And after that World Cup, instead of resigning a multi-year contract that would have allowed

him to continue his professional career, he walked away, resigning his pro-athletic

career in order to pursue a dream, a dream that eventually became all birds. It's such a cool

story. It's something that really speaks to me as somebody who's just a big fan of sport and of

business and of people who put things on the line. And it's an

honor to be able to share it with you today. We talk about Tim's background as an athlete,

obviously, and how it made him a better entrepreneur. We talk about the value of having teammates

and business partners, specifically referencing his co-CEO, Joey's Willinger, at Allbirds.

We talk about staying hungry after success and persistent after failure.

We talk about the sustainability mission of their brand.

And finally, we talk about the new performance running shoe, which they just launched a

couple of weeks ago.
