prosecutors laid out explosive new evidence against Donald Trump.

It's Thursday, October 3rd. Let's get you caught up with today's 7 stories. A new court filing from Special Counsel Jack Smith offers new details about Trump's behavior during the January 6th 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The document was unsealed yesterday.

It lays out the evidence Smith's team would like to present in the long-delayed federal criminal

case against Trump connected to the Capitol attack. It describes in more extensive detail

than before how many people including his own campaign officials told Trump

there was no proof the election was stolen and how Trump waged a campaign to overturn the result anyway.

The filing details how Vice President Mike Pence repeatedly tried to encourage Trump to back off

his claims of a stolen election.

It also alleges that after learning security measures were being taken to protect Pence on

January 6th, Trump told an aide, so what?

The new filing was intended to show that Trump can still face trial for attempting to overturn

Joe Biden's electoral victory.

Even though the Supreme Court ruled in July that Trump was immune from prosecution

for official acts. Number two, the Trump campaign is stepping up its baseless attacks on migrants.

At a campaign rally in Milwaukee this week, Donald Trump shared what sounded like a pretty alarming statistic.

He said the Biden Harris administration had allowed more than 13,000 migrants who were convicted murderers to enter the country and that

they're quote on the loose. But that claim is false according to the Post's

fact-chequer. The Biden-Harras administration did not release more than 13,000 murders who have
