Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. tried to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris to discuss a job.

The independent presidential candidate has fallen in national polls since President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

So he's looking at a number of options for the future of his presidential

bid. One of those options was revealed by the post yesterday. He tried to arrange a meeting with

the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris. He wanted to discuss the possibility

of serving in her administration if she wins. In exchange, he would throw his support behind

her presidential campaign. But according to our report, Harris and her team have not responded with an offer to meet,

nor have they shown any interest in the proposal.

The outreach from Kennedy follows his meeting in Milwaukee last month with the Republican nominee Donald Trump.

They discussed a similar policy role and endorsement, but it didn't result in an agreement. So for now Kennedy says he will continue to

campaign with the expectation that he will defeat both Trump and Harris.

Number two, high stakes talks for a ceasefire in Gaza resume today.

Israel is meeting with mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and the U.S. in Doha.

Biden administration aides have described these talks as a final stage push toward a U.S-backed plan to end the war.

But Hamas will not be there today.
