Let's get you caught up with today's seven stories.

Number one, the Washington Post's polling model has some good news for Vice President

Kamala Harris. It shows that if the election

were held today, she would be the favorite to win the White House. Since President

Joe Biden ended his re-election campaign in July, the race has effectively reversed

itself.

As of Sunday, Harris leads her Republican rival Donald Trump in our national polling average.

She's also taken the lead in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and

has substantially closed the gap in Michigan. And according to our model, Harris

has opened up a new route to victory. She could win in either the Rust Belt or the Sun Belt

and get to the White House, while Trump has to do well in both regions to win. With the momentum shifting in her favor, Harris held a joint campaign

rally with Biden in Maryland yesterday. They announced agreements to lower the

costs of 10 medications selected under a Medicare price negotiation program.

Those included drugs to treat diabetes, blood clots, heart failure, rheumatoid arthritis, and blood cancers.

We're sticking with the election for number two. Trump

defended his personal attacks on Harris yesterday. Shortly after the Biden-Harras event in Maryland, the Republican nominee held a news conference at his golf club in New Jersey.
