The Pittsburgh Steelers didn't make any trades at the NFL trade deadline.

I'm not really upset about the Steelers not being active closer to the deadline,

and their one trade to acquire Kyle Dougger a week ahead of the deadline is one that looks

like he could work out.

But I do kind of wish the Steelers look to address the cornerback position of the deadline is one that looks like it could work out. But I do kind of wish the Steelers look to address the cornerback position at the deadline.

The Steelers are moving Jalen Ramsey to safety, a decision that I'm in favor of.

That leaves him a little bit thin at cornerback, or at least to rely on someone who's been

inconsistent in Darius Slay.

Asante Samuel Jr. is coming in for a visit next week, and he could certainly be an option

and a good one at that.

But Samuel is also visiting with five other teams, and the sailors don't really have a strong

history of beating out other teams for sought after in-season free agents.

I'd be very happy with Samuel,

but some insurance in the form of Alante Taylor

or another depth cornerback

would have made me a lot more comfortable about this defense.

Maybe the sealers will be fine,

and Slay will improve in the second half.
