Welcome to episode 1,648 of your daily guided meditation. I'm Mary Meckley, and I welcome you to a series about cultivating inner peace. And this is ideal for this time of year as we are in the midst of the end of the year festivities and

holidays and you're getting ready to launch into a brand new year. And this is a replay of a series

I recorded a few years ago and I will be taking some time off to celebrate the

holidays with my own family, and I will be returning to you in the new year. I'm selecting

series that were popular series during this festive time of year. So I hope you enjoy this week's series.

Now, when I recorded this series, I didn't yet offer weekly challenges. So I have a challenge.

I'd like to offer you for this week. And that is for you to every day spend some time doing something that cultivates inner peace.

And this will be outside of your meditation, ritual, outside of the techniques you might weave into your day.

Think about something that you'd like to be doing this season. A lot of times

during this time of year, the holidays pass by so quickly. And we find that we didn't actually

take time to slow down to take in the meaning of the season, whatever that meaning is for you.

It might be seeking clarity. It might be celebrating. It might be peace, joy, love, all of these

different big, powerful emotions come together during this time of year.

So make sure that you choose something that's going to allow you to take it all in.

For myself, what I'll be doing as I listen to these meditations right along with you

is I have my home decorated for

Christmas which I celebrate and I light up the Christmas tree and I have a fireplace with a garland

that's lit up and I sit and listen to Christmas music and I have the Christmas lights on and I often

have a candle lit and I just look around at my tree, the different ornaments and I'll journal

and I'll really enjoy this time.

I have a few books that I read during this time of year that I'll read some quotes

or a chapter or two out of these books.
