Steve, thank you so much for being on the show today. I think people are going to be really blown

away by your story and inspired. Oh, hey, Shaline. Thanks so much for having me.

Now, when you graduated from college, what were you working or what were you doing?

I moved to San Diego with my brother and I got a job by the beach and I was in sales for

a construction equipment company. You dream job. My dream job. Yeah, and there's nothing wrong with

that. Some people are cut out for sales. I very quickly learned that I was not. Sales was not

my cup of tea. I love talking to people. I just don't like selling to them and I had worked

some manual labor jobs to pay the bills through high school or summer jobs between college,

the construction industry was something very foreign to me. I quickly learned that this was not my

calling and I remember on a lunch break one day while at the day job. I went to a bookstore and

Tim Ferriss's four hour work week had just come out like the week before that or something.

I was so unhappy and mismatched in my job that I saw the book cover with the silhouette of

two palm trees and the guy in the hammock between them. That was like, that looks like I wouldn't

mind being in the hammock down. I bought the book. I read it in a day and a half and two days later,

I purchased the domain nerdfitness.com. This is about a year and a half or so after I had had my

personal transformative breakthrough when I realized how important diet fitness was.

You just start a blog, but it's not a business. It's just a blog, right?

Absolutely. I was like, I'm not sure how to turn this into a business, but I know there's other

people out there like me that are nerdy, that love to play video games and are interested in

getting fit, but don't know where to turn. There's no websites out there that are just telling you
