Welcome back to the What is Money Show, sitting down again today with Mr. John

Brevaki.

I guess you're almost a famous lecturer now on YouTube with the Awakening from the Meaning Crisis series, which has been very impactful for myself.

And I think just very relevant to the times we're in.

So we've been exploring a lot of these connections between John's world of

cognitive science and, you know, our studies of socioeconomics. And today we're going to jump

into this concept of mythology. Yeah. You know, I think in the Western world today, there's this kind of slang phrase

where, oh, that's a myth. That means it's fake. It means it's untrue. But I think that's

a deeply flawed conception of myth.

And I'll open with one thing here.

So I think this is from Joseph Campbell.

And I'll paraphrase a little bit.

He said that the job of the artist is to mythologize the present for future

generations. That sounds like Joseph Campbell. Very much. Yeah. I mean, it was Joseph Campbell's

interview with Bill Moyers, the power of myth, that really brought myth into my, I guess call it my academic theoretical

consideration.

I mean, I'd already been interested in Young's work both theoretically and personally.

I went through Jungian therapy.

I did Youngian workshops. I really wanted to ean therapy I did young me in workshops I

really wanted to understand it I also needed it but but I also have you know the Bill

Moyers power myth and Joseph Campbell yeah so which is which is on I think it's six-part documentary series on Netflix.
