Welcome to episode 1834 of your daily guided meditation.

How are you doing?

I just read an article about how important it is to rely on yourself when you want to begin to trust yourself and have more confidence.

And this was from the Harvard Business Review.

And it talked about someone who was going to give a TED talk.

And they sent their speech out to several colleagues.

And the colleagues came back with all these ideas and the person became even more confused.

Because they had just too much information at that point.

And so what the person decided to do is to simplify and trust their instinct about what they wanted to share and what they wanted to share had to come from their authentic self.

And this was a scary process for them to put themselves on the line like that and to be so vulnerable.

Because initially the speaker had wanted to have a very intellectual type of speech loaded with facts.

What ended up happening is when the speaker gave this TED talk, it became a very good well-received talk precisely because it was so honest and authentic.

So when you begin to rely on yourself rather than relying on others or what the outside world may be telling you,

then you begin to open up to what's possible within you.

And when you think about it, that is your gift to the world.

We each have unique gifts.

And so when you begin to trust yourself, you begin to share your unique gifts more often.

And this is what makes the world a better place.
