Summary

We’ve all been there, quickly popping to the shops to pick up a few essentials and come out laden with food products, many of which we didn’t actually need. You’d think we’d learn after this has happened a couple of times, especially with not wanting food to go to waste and to help reduce our spending. The thing is supermarkets have cleverly devised ways to encourage us to buy more than necessary time and time again. This week’s Food For Thought sees TV presenter and author Chris Bavin and I examine the psychology that goes into our shopping and suggest how we can all become better buyers.
