| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to our sparring session. In our sparring sessions, we invite our guests to showcase their skills in a realistic scenario. In these sessions, don't look at what I do. Look at what our guests does and learn from their style. In some sessions, I'm pretty easy to deal with, but usually my goal in these conversations is to become the embodiment of your worst nightmare, someone who's unnaturally persistent, unnecessarily difficult, and at times a little bit socially awkward. I want these conversations to be more difficult than it would be in real life, so when you encounter these types of situations, you'll know exactly how to handle it. |
| 0:38.5 | We do the exact same things in our trainings and in our one-on-one coaching sessions with clients. |
| 0:43.3 | I strongly recommend listening to the accompanying episode with our guests before listening to |
| 0:47.6 | the sparring session. That'll give you a little bit more context and help you to develop a |
| 0:51.6 | better understanding for the scenario. So without further ado, |
| 0:55.4 | let's jump into this sparring session. So in this hypothetical situation, I am going to be the |
| 1:02.7 | executive director of a local nonprofit, and there are opportunities to collaborate with Weld. |

| 1:13.3 | because I've never collaborated like this before. And so I'm hesitant. And Barb is going to use her |
| 1:19.3 | amazing persuasive skills to walk me through it. Ready to go? Fabulous. I am. Cool. Barb, thanks |
| 1:26.1 | for meeting me. Kwame, how are you doing these days? |
| 1:29.3 | I am doing well. |
| 1:30.3 | I'm excited to meet with you because I'm, as you know, I'm the recent executive |
| 1:36.3 | director of Helpers Helping the Helpless, and I'm just excited to learn from a pro. |
| 1:41.3 | Kwame, I attended your last fundraiser. It was your debut as the executive director of the |
| 1:48.0 | organization, and it was fantastic. Your mission is vital to the community, and it was wonderful |
| 1:54.8 | to see you take the helm of this organization, because I know you're going to position it |
| 1:59.1 | for success over the next five to |
| 2:01.3 | 10 year period. Thank you. I appreciate it. I was just trying to survive. That's all I was trying to |
| 2:07.2 | do up there. You're doing wonderful. So what made you want to reach out today? Well, as I said, |
| 2:13.0 | I attended your event and I saw the reach that you have in your community and at the end of the day, |
| 2:19.0 | we have a lot of individuals in this community that need help. They need food, they need shelter, |
