This is episode 1049. Welcome to your daily guided meditation. And I welcome you to part

0:11.7

five of our series on self-love, self-care. How to honor and respect yourself and love yourself,

0:24.6

despite what others may think of you. And this is a challenge for many people depending on the

0:36.4

situation. And so I hope that throughout this week you've been able to explore some ways to feel

0:45.3

more grounded within yourself so that others thoughts don't influence you so much. And that's what

0:53.5

today's meditation is all about. It's about exploring how to feel grounded. On a regular basis,

1:04.2

what you could do to feel secure about who you are, what you represent. And to do this, a chakra

1:16.1

meditation works beautifully, a first chakra meditation. And this is where you focus on your

1:23.0

values and what you represent. Now, if you're not familiar with chakras, you don't have to focus

1:30.6

1:38.2

1:57.6

different bodily functions, then surely there's a system within us that is where we harbor different

2:09.7

emotions, the strong emotions that stick with us, how we feel and memories that may influence

2:17.8

the way we act. And so they thought about some of the bigger emotions and feelings. And where

2:26.5

those might be lodged within you. And so they came up with about seven points throughout your

2:34.6

body. And today you'll be focusing on the very first one, which is feeling grounded and connected.

2:43.6

So I hope you enjoy the meditation today. Now, I want to say that in today's meditation,

2:51.2

you'll focus on protecting yourself and forgiving yourself. So I've been taking you through

2:58.5

a prescription from Deborah Koshaba. She's a psychologist who wrote a seven step prescription for

3:06.9

self-love. And she talks about self-love as being an action, not a state of simply feeling good,

3:16.7

but actually taking action to feel good. So if you take this action, then you'll feel this way.
