0:05.5	I want to share with you a message from Isaiah chapter 6, which very much parallels the situation in our lives today.
0:16.8	It happens, it says in the beginning in the year that King Uzziah died, King Uzziah had been
0:22.0	king of Jerusalem and Israel for 52 years. And in fact, he was a true king unlike any other since,
0:28.8	you know, David, very good, prosperous. He had subdued his enemies, developed the country economically.
0:34.2	His fame, it says, in scripture spread far and wide. Everything was secure. And when he dies, it's like the future dies with him. And the empire of Assyria, which is the enemies of Israel are pushing closer and closer and a lot of fears and anxieties in the air. And it's really much like today in the midst of our pandemic and
0:55.0	in midst of this global recession in which we find ourselves and amidst of all the turmoil
0:59.8	happening around racial injustice and other factors are a gap between rich and poor widening.
1:06.0	But in this time of massive upheaval, God meets Isaiah.
1:13.6	Isaiah sees a throne and he sees God on it, not Uzziah or any other earthly king.
1:18.8	He sees God.
1:20.0	And even though the Assyrian Empire is conquering the Mideast at that time, he sees a God who rules.
1:26.1	And you've got this picture of God high and exalted. Holy,
1:29.9	holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty. The whole earth is full of his glory. And Isaiah gets this
1:35.4	incredible vision of the Lord Almighty who has actual control over all of history. And it's a
1:41.5	towering throne. And God sits in a relaxed, not anxious way. And it makes the
1:46.8	point that the whole earth is full of his glory. And God meets us in all kinds of places, even in a
1:52.4	pandemic. And so this message is going to talk about God and his glory and how important and how we can
1:58.7	see him in his glory. And then it talks about
2:01.2	stumps. Stumps are like the end of a tree. It's like a bottom of a tree stump. It's ugly. It's not
2:08.4	beautiful. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. Nothing's growing out of it, apparently.
2:13.6	But there's a text, in his text and his vision, he's not just a throny. God gives him a vision of a stump in the land, but out of that stump is going to come something holy.
