| 0:33.5 | positive self-image. And that's our theme for this week is a positive self-image. Monday is also |
| 0:47.0 | Mindset Day so yesterday we did a reflection meditation on the theme and on the past week you just experienced. |
| 1:00.0 | And now it is Monday, if you're listening to this in sequence, if not, it's no problem. |
| 1:08.0 | Listen to the meditations in any order you want. |
| 1:12.6 | Well, I like to start every week with a mindset meditation using an affirmation, because |
| 1:21.6 | this will set the tone for how you do things the whole week long. |
| 1:28.3 | And this is very important because research shows that |
| 1:34.3 | we often belittle ourselves when we set goals for ourselves. |
| 1:41.3 | And we can even feel as though when we berate ourselves that this is good for us |
| 1:50.0 | because it may help us try harder or become better at what we're trying to do. |

| 1:59.3 | It can feel as though you're beating yourself up and the research is |
| 2:04.5 | showing that we don't perform at our best when we do this we may think we do if somebody's |
| 2:12.7 | really tough on us but people in the study there have been many studies about this, and I'll link to one of the |
| 2:23.2 | studies in the resources section for this series, it shows that when we give ourselves some self-compassion, when we're understanding if we make a mistake |
| 2:38.8 | or we fail at something, if we talk to ourselves as we would talk to a best friend, and |
| 2:45.5 | we encourage ourselves, this is incredibly powerful. In fact, it's so powerful that this is truly the |
| 2:55.8 | conversations in our heads we should be having in order to accomplish anything we set out to do. |
| 3:03.1 | Because this is the mindset that gets results. |
| 3:08.4 | It's also the mindset that helps you to feel good physiologically. |
