Lebanon, the landscape is known to me because

I've seen it from the edge of the finger of Israel to the end of the Bacca, but beyond there is

a Latani River and beyond there is Beirut. Over the last day, there has been various fighting

at different places, but the goal remains what?

Is it security for the northern border of Israel?

Is it to decap what's left of the Hezbollah leadership that have been, we understood, deceiving

everyone by hiding out in institutions associated with the Sunni, not with the Shia,

or is it to push into the Latani River and secure everything south of there?

Do we know the goal now, Jonathan?

I mean, there are a couple things happening at once here.

This is a fascinating file for anyone that's been watching

the Middle East. You have this mobilization on the part of Israel, or they've called up tens of

thousands of fighters, reservists, who are already rather exhausted from the last two and a half

years of war. But they're called up, and they are now deployed in southern Lebanon there. We're watching a

security zone be established. This is actually leading to the destruction of homes and

infrastructure across the bottom, let's say two to four kilometers of territory stretching up
