Judy travels Europe has for many years.

She's a European.

I am not.

I'm none of those things.

I have come and gone as a tourist over many decades, but I do not have a sense

of German economy or the French economy. All I know is sometimes I have enough words to get

in and out of a hotel. So I turn to the Financial Times to ask the big question. There is no European

industrial crisis goes to the assertion duty.

There's only a German industrial crisis.

Now, that sweeping remark was made weeks ago by the Financial Times.

Is it accurate?

Is Germany both the trouble and the solution for the apparent slowdown and inability to move in Europe.

Oh gosh. This is very difficult because you're forgetting about the troubles

that President Emmanuel Macron of France has. I mean, France is just in paralysis at the

moment. No reforms, no pension reforms, no infrastructure reforms.

And Macron is no longer a player.

I mean, he's got less than two years as president,

but he's simply not a player because the French economy is in such bad shape with lack of reforms.

Coming back to Germany, Germany does matter.
