Greetings greetings this is K-Songa as you know we've been playing some of our favorite radio

headspace episodes that speak to feelings about the new year.

On that note we're revisiting some episodes from Andy this week where he shares how mindfulness

can help us be kinder to ourselves especially in the month of resolutions.

So here's Andy with some words on intentions and how to positively channel our energy

in the new year.

Hi it's Andy here and welcome to Radio Headspace and to Monday morning happy new year I hope

you've had a great start to the year.

I know the holiday period may have been difficult for many of you but I hope you were at least

able to take a little bit of time out and you're starting the year feeling somewhat refreshed

and hopefully somewhat optimistic looking at the year ahead after a very difficult year

for everybody last year.

I feel like the start of the year let's put sort of any resolutions sort of ideas aside

for a moment and focus on instead the energy behind our intentions in the year ahead.

Because it's different for each and every person and whether we look at it from a philosophical

point of view, a psychological point of view, a scientific point of view there is only

so much time and there is only so much energy.

I was looking earlier today at a conversation of thread on social media and I was really

struck.

I was struck by so many things.

I was struck by the toxicity of the conversation.
