Hi, it's Andy here and welcome to Radio Headspace and to Wednesday morning. So a few days back

I was walking past an area not too far from my house where they've recently started

some redevelopment and before it was a development it was just forest. It was just beautiful trees.

And not just any old trees, it's an old forest. Most of those trees would be older than

a hundred years and it was a really sort of magical place and in many ways that feeling

that it got when we used to kind of go there and we'll past it, there was a feeling of

connection with not just nature but also with that sense of timelessness that you get from

going to places in nature that have been around for such a long time. Whilst I recognize

obviously things have to change and develop and everything else and there's lots of good

things that will come out of it and lots of people have jobs and so I don't want to get

sort of too romantic about the idea of not sort of destroying areas of nature. Sometimes

those things kind of just have to happen. But at the same time as I walk past that development

I couldn't help but think how long it had taken for that forest to develop, how long

it had taken for those trees to grow and how quickly they came down. I mean they came

down an entire area in the space of a day. I think there's something there in terms

of how we think about our practice. It takes a long time to cultivate something positive,
