What resets our nervous system after trauma?

I started off the series, sharing with you how Dr. Levine became involved in trauma research,

and it had to do with watching wild animals recover instantly from traumatic situations

such as being chased by a lion or a tiger or a bear,

or the predator once the animals were safe,

their nervous systems returned to normal,

2:18.0

and he believed that humans could experience this same rapid reset of the nervous system as wild animals do.
