Today, we're going to talk about judgment.

It's hard to ignore judgment or criticism from others, especially when you're trying

something for the first time.

But by trusting and loving ourselves in these moments, we can chart the best course forward

and feel confident in our decisions.

When I was a kid, I don't really recall having one concrete thing that I loved.

I just wanted to be happy.

Actually at it, I did love love.

From a very young age, I was fascinated by intimacy.

And that included close personal relationships that also included the human body.

And not in a sexual way, because I'm talking young like four or five years old, but just

in a way of knowing that this was a deeply sacred, deeply beautiful space.

There is no moment that I decided to become a sexologist because I was overcoming so many

layers of shame.

First externally, the shame from my family, the shame from my school, the shame from religion,

shame from culture, the shame from my friends.

And even once I was able to overcome all those hurdles I realized, I had a lot of internalized

shame.

There was a certain time in my life, even when I had a book out, even when I was a certified

sex education counselor.
