Summary

“How did it go?” You ask your child after yet another therapy session. “Fine.” Your child flatly replies. It’s been months and it is always the same thing. No reaction after therapy. No behavioral changes at home. Is your child’s therapy working? Are there goals? What is going on in there?***This podcast is for informational purposes only and should not be used to replace the guidance of a qualified professional.Visit my website at www.ATparentingSurvival.comInterested in my AT Parenting Community Membership? Welcome to AT Parenting Survival Podcast, where you get supporting guidance through the chaos of parenting.

0:07.0

Here's your host, Child Therapist Natasha Daniels.

0:11.0

Welcome to another episode of the AT Parenting Survival Podcast.

0:17.0

Today I want to talk to you about what to do when therapy isn't progressing.

0:23.8

I do see this conversation happening a lot

0:26.9

in my private Facebook group.

0:28.7

And I thought it would be a good podcast episode

0:31.2

because it seems like a lot of times parents second guess their

0:37.6

their gut feeling that therapy isn't going well and sometimes there are other

0:41.7

things coming into play and so I thought that's a good

0:45.0

thing to talk about and I need to talk to you about something because I was

0:49.6

supposed to have an interview today and I had to cancel it because I live in Arizona and so all the

0:57.3

teachers are on strike and there's a huge sign on my kids school that says no classes until further notice.

1:05.0

So it's kind of scary. They're going to have to make it up so it's doubly scary

1:11.0

because it's impacting their summer, but I have kids indefinitely with no

1:16.4

plan to put them anywhere else but right here, which is okay for me but it really does put some other people probably in dire straits.

1:27.0

You know, what are you going to do with your kids?

1:28.6

So anyway, my kids are here, they're probably going to be noisy. I've threatened them. I have threatened

1:34.6

their lives and but it never seems to work so they're going to come in here and

1:38.0

they're going to be loud and that's okay because that's how life is. Life is

1:41.4

messy. But this podcast will probably be a little bit shorter.

1:46.0

At least it's my plan so that I can go back and interact with them.
