This month, Awesome Marriage, we've been talking about different ways to guard your marriage online. Each week on the podcast, we've been

sharing one way that you can guard your marriage online. Today, we're going to be talking

specifically about protecting your marriage from the woes of comparison online. Comparison

truly is the thief of joy. and with social media at all of our

fingertips and the desire to look good online, the temptation for comparison in some ways is harder

today than it ever has been before. Depression and suicide rates are increasing and many people are

linking these things to the sometimes damaging effects of social media and online issues when it comes

to comparing ourselves to others. So the issue of comparison online definitely trickles into all of our

marriages and it's an important topic for us to discuss today. So Dr. Cam, why do you think we're so

tempted to compare ourselves to others when we see things online? I think comparison's always been a problem for people, but now it's so easy to compare.

I mean, it's right in front of you.

And, you know, as we were talking before, people in social media.

And, you know, sit-home moms are probably on social media more than other people.

Yeah, statistically speaking, we are.

Yes.

So although I know a lot of people from the workplace.

So I think it's easy access.

And I think it's where some reason we're just kind of drawn to it.

And so it's so easy now.
