This is John Batchel, a conversation with my good colleague, Jeff Bliss, Pacific Watch, about the

news that the mayor of Los Angeles has fired the police, the fire chief of Los Angeles,

Kristen Crowley, who during the worst days of the fires

in the Palisades, Pacific Palisades, and the Eaton fire, acknowledged to CNN that there

had been a failure at the command at the leadership level. Jeff here gives us an analysis of what might have been done, had leadership been present,

not stop the fires, but contain, knock down is the term he uses, and given chance for more

resources to flow in. There are many mistakes. Leadership is the one Jeff points to. More of this later tonight.

Yes and no. It became more difficult to reach as it burned on. And that's where they are alleging the Southern California Edison power lines or transmission box spark the fire. And that's up against the hills and they're very dry and you

had the high winds. So that went off right away. You know, the Palisades also very dry and

very hilly. But I think it were we're talking about where the Palisades fire, there could have

been some firefighting resources. It would have been tougher at the Eden fire. And like I said, you know,

L.A. is, I think, the biggest county in the U.S. And to think that we could have fire trucks in all

the key areas, that's tough. But, you know, at least you can have some in an area so you could get to
