Hello, it's Eve here. Welcome to Radio Headspace and to this brand new week.

I really love to cook. My dad was a chef and it's definitely where I get my love for

food from. It's a way for me to connect with him and I often find myself saying, oh,

what would dad do here? Or I wonder if he'd like it? And I have so many fond memories

of helping him, listening to Dolly Parton blaring out the speakers. He was a big fan of

country music and he'd often get told by my mum to turn it down as the guests could hear

it. So over the weekend I decided to cook one of his recipes. He loved Spanish food

and made the most incredible Gazbacho soup. And I was cooking away, of course, playing

some music just like my dad did and a particular song came on, Rhyne Stone Cowboy by Glenn Campbell.

Now, this is one of our favourites growing up. And in that moment, hearing the music playing,

I was back in the kitchen with him, music blaring, pan simmering, amazing smells filling

the air. I really allowed my awareness and my attention to just be with that moment.

I knew I was still in my kitchen, cooking his recipe, but I had this very strong sense

of being with him. I didn't even need to close my eyes. The visual of being with him

was really strong and it was really such a beautiful moment. And I didn't realise

it straight away, but tears were softly pouring down my cheek.
