Welcome, Rick Fisher of the International Assessment and Strategy Center to take us to the

Moon is the intention for the People's Republic of China's space program.

And we meet a major player in that Moon ambition, Dr. Yang Meng-Fai of the China Aerospace Science

and Technology Corporation.

Rick, a very good even to you.

Dr. Yang, what are his credentials?

What is his mission?

John, thank you.

Dr. Yang was the chief designer of the Changi-5 unmanned Moon probe that returned a sample

of the Moon back in, I believe it was 2022.

Dr. Yang is a key engineering designer and is likely leading the design of China's

manned Moonlander that could put Chinese astronauts on the Moon at least by 2029, but perhaps

as early as 2028, barely three years after United States intends through its Artemis

three mission to return American astronauts to the Moon.

Gordon, you have a question for Rick.

Rick, the Chinese design for their Moonlander is called the Moon Bomber, I've learned from

you.

Rick can explain what that is and why it's significant that they've got that design,

rather than the design that the US used to go to the Moon in 1969.
