Today you're listening to episode 101 and I'm talking with Rachel Stratton Mills.

Rachel is a swim coach for ASU and last year she traveled around the country with her husband

and their 18-month-old daughter to learn about the different programs around the country

and they also videotaped swim techniques for the different programs as well.

I know I usually talk to runners on this podcast for the most part but this is a really cool

episode because we get to learn a little bit about a different sport.

As runners I know a lot of us use swimming as cross-training.

A lot of us have learned to love swimming because we've been injured or we've been trying

to keep ourselves from getting injured and being a little bit nicer to our bodies by jumping

in the pool.

I myself have completed a half-iron man so I kind of taught myself how to swim back in 2013

and I still hop in the pool from time to time and definitely as I'm building my mileage

and want to make sure that I'm not building too fast.

I use that swimming as supplementary cross-training and if you hang towards the end of the show

I have listener questions and Rachel gives some really good answers about good ways to

become a better swimmer and just technique and training advice for people that are trying

to swim and learn to swim.
