Summary
Sleep. What a beautiful and essential thing, amirite? I'm right. I don't know about yall, but I can handle getting a little hangry. But if my sleep is messed up? All bets are off. The last 6-8 years, largely as a byproduct of being a general health enthusiast and also investing a lot of time and energy into competitive bodybuilding, learning how to optimize my sleep has been a huge priority.
Sleep is one of our biggest forms of recovery, right up there with our nutrition. If we can harness the power of good sleep, everything from our mood to our fat loss to our performance to our blood sugar regulation improves.
Today's episode is coming from someone who has devoted quite a bit of time and effort into optimizing a lesser-appreciated aspect of our sleep: your pillow.
Yep, that's right, your pillow.
We've heard from all the fancy mattress companies, and yall know how much I love my performa sleep mattress, but I foolishly never thought to give my pillows much thought. I knew I was picky with pillows, which you'll hear more about on the episode, but I didn't know we could actually have… an optimized pillow for our sleep needs and preferences????
Today we're chatting with Susana Saeliu, the co-founder and CEO of Pluto Pillow. Susana started experiencing neck pain in 2017 and found that the main offender was her pillow.
So, she set out to create a company that solved pillow problems around the world through crafting the perfect pillow.
Thus, Pluto Pillow, the first and only custom sleep pillow that's crafted to your body stats, how you sleep, and what you like, was born. At Pluto, they take in all sorts of stats and preferences to help build a pillow that's truly bespoke to you and your needs for your best sleep experience yet.
Today we're talking all things sleep hygiene, being a female in the entrepreneurial space, and finding your voice as a woman in business. This episode is so inspiring, and Susana really does bring something so fresh and amazing to the business space. Annnnd if you're looking to treat yourself to a Pluto Pillow ofyour own, they're offering EMBody Radio listeners an exclusive discount of 10% off your custom pluto pillow with the code EMBODY at checkout on plutopillow.com. Once again, that's code EMBODY for 10% off your Pluto Pillow of plutopillow.com
Annnnd to sweeten the dreams a little further, I have a very exciting announcement from our partners over at Cured Nutrition, and that's the NEW Cured Nutrition CBN night caps. These have 30mg cbd, 5mg cbn, 1.5mg thc. Great to stack with Zen. It's a little stronger than the CBN tincture, so if you're ready to have the easiest time falling and staying asleep, this is the one for you. I've been using these ever since I got them at the end of the month, and WOW. These are a game changer. I already was a sound sleeper, but now… complete next level.
